Since I originally had my domains hosted with GoDaddy (and p202 doesn't work there) I bought a BlueHost shared server to use for my p202. For about 6 months I haven't really had much trouble (that I know, although there have been numerous bouts of about 5 minutes when it has been down (so I guess that is trouble?? hah)) but last night it was getting ridiculous.

My visitors tab was working and spy wasnt, then I kept getting DB not found errors most of the night. Anyways, I just said "maybe something is being trippy, I'll deal w/ it in the morning" - Considering I'm not doing a ton of volume, I wasn't that worried about it.

Went to bed at 2AM, wake up at 4AM to piss - p202 and every link is completely dead. I pause everything and said whatever I need sleep, I'll look when I wakeup.

9AM - everything STILL completely dead. I contact support, and this is what I get:

Me: my server has been dead for hours, what is going on? this is ridiculous

Them: I'm sorry for any inconvenience, but the server is currently undergoing some file system maintenance. The admins are currently working on this issue and, while it has taken longer than initially expected, they currently estimate about 2 hours before they have it back up.

Me: wow that's cool - i wasn't notified?

Them: I'm sorry for any inconvenience.

Fuck that, that's some bullshit. Just check your BH servers if you are using them, that's the point of this message.

I have some of my p202 hosting on Bluehost too....but had no problems!
Hoping that the drop in leads this weekend is not because of them ..

I like SoftLayer.

Although I just got a Hybrid (VPS) with WiredTree and their service is really good as well.

I hate when people start bitching when using shared hosting. I'm not an asshole but what do you expect from 4 or 5 bucks a month service. Just be gratefully that you could get your shit up on air for a couple of dollars.

I have a VPS just haven't moved it over yet :)

I'm not bitching that it's down, I know that's a risk/effect from shared. I'm pissed that they didn't contact me and had not a thing to say about it other than "sorry that its down" .. like wtf?

Whats the problem with using t202 on hostgator? I've run it on hostgator when I first started out. It was way to slow for redirects, but that was the other 2,000 or so websites on the same server, not the t202 setup.
