Damn, didn't know there were this many "geeks" into fitness and mma here. I don't go to a gym but I lift 4 days/week and knock around a heavy bag when I'm pissed (daily)

Maybe we could put together some sort of wickedfire mma tourney. I know there are a couple of wf members I'd love to square off with.

better yet, a wickedfire vs warrior or dp or both. I'd be up for that.

This thread rocks. I hit the gym 5 days a week. Last fall I bulked up to 245 and dropped to around 210 for a trip to Florida. I am back up to 230 now. I see you guys like NO Xplode, but I get tired of taking shakes all the time. My fave NO supp has to be Animal Pump. I can't wait for the winter this year, cardio is getting boring.

When I'm not out of town or too busy w/ work, I'm in the gym 6 days a week. I eat really clean on a 40/40/20 diet. 3600 kcals/day over 6 meals. Just take a protein supplement, creatine ethyl-ester, fish oil and a multi vitamin. My wife takes no-xplode, but when I take enough to feel it, the caffeine makes me shit like crazy... but I might look into another l-arginine pre-workout supp in the future.

I just started working out maybe 5-6 weeks ago and gained ~10 pounds so far. I'm now 6'1" 160 lbs. I take Sizeon creatine during my workout. I'm on a 4-day split. I've been looking for a good protein shake and right now Muscle Juice is looking good, but I'm not too sure. I'm trying to get up to ~190 but I think my biggest problem is I don't eat enough. I guess I just naturally have a small stomach and I get full really fast. Having a ridiculously fast metabolism doesn't help either. If only there was a way to expand my stomach...man I'd be jacked :-)

Stuff in all the eggs, chicken, steak, rice and oats you can get.

I used to lift regularly, doing big stuff like squats and deadlifts. I get a lot of out of it, but I stopped a few months ago, mainly because my flexibility is where I'm weakest and badly want to sort that out. My core strength needs improvement as well.

I'm doing yoga as a daily practise now which is fantastic for mental focus along with all the physical stuff. I'm also running a couple of times a week. Once I've made this into a proper habit, I'll probably start lifting and doing martial arts again.

I'd love to be able to spend at 3-4 hours a day doing different forms of exercise - one of the reasons I'm so keen on IM as a career.

Your wife has too big forearms for a woman. It doesn't look good.

Distance runner here. I run cross-country and track. Running is the best way to lose a shit ton of weight. Hell, I can run 10 miles a day and eat whatever I want. It also helps that I am young, but still.

I don't do anything I can't do anywhere (ie. no weights, no supplements, no accessories) but I exercise every couple of hours from the time I wake up to the time I go to sleep, seven days a week. A highly moderated diet and the right attitude towards my body and health go a long way too.

I have to put up a defence for what I thought was the gayest thing ever, the Wii Fit. I got my wife one for her birthday, and playing with it I was really suprised at the quality of the balance tests and training. Building balance is an area where a lot of gym exercises fall short; the Wii's interface for graphing your balance and whether/how you sway in a given position is awesome.

(I know, some queer coming in talking about isometrics and Wii Fits in a bodybuilding thread, sorry studs. Not all of us have that kind of free time and I have a permanently fucked up hip & spine from a motorcycle accident, but still like to keep in shape however possible.)

Eating more expands your stomach. I used to have trouble getting in 2,500 cals in a day and I was 6'0 150lbs. Now I get 4,000/day with no problem and I'm ~195lbs.

Word. I've been running XC for a few years now; going into my junior year of high school, I've got a 5k PR of 16:54 with an average 17-17:15. Looking for sub 16:30 by the end of this season, and sub 16 by the end of senior season. I go to a big NE boarding school, so college is a priority...banking on this running thing.

I play basketball and baseball too, but I'm going to make the switch to track this year. My mile PR is 4:54 while prarie-dogging (:repuke:), I'm looking to shave that down to sub 4:40 by November (end XC) and around 4:29/4:30 by March (end track).

It really is a great way to stay in shape, but damn does it take a lot of work ethic. It's up to you how hard you work, and the harder you do work the more you get out of it.

I don't like being a scrawny runt though so I try to workout too. :P Like 3-4 days a week while at school, alternating lower/upper body and doing core every day.

P.S. kyleirwin, your right forearm is significantly larger than your left. You might want to look into getting a girlfriend to do that for you...

I'd recommend it.

I work out 5x/wk, for about 1.5 hours each session. I do weights, and minimal cardio (because I'd be a stick with too much of it). But I'm a bit of a fitness freak sometimes. I eat very "cleanly" (not much processed), and since I'm at home, I eat every 3 hours to keep the body burning and working. You don't have that "afternoon crash" as hard if you do that.

It totally helps the energy during the day, and I don't rely on caffeine as much.

It also rocks the sex drive.

I highly recommend it.

Just started working out a few weeks ago. I try to eat correctly (protein and carbs), along with a shake after my workout. I gave up on gaining major amounts of mass though, all I care about is getting stronger.

I gained around ~8 lbs after working out religiously for 3 months and eating correctly, however I got a stomach virus and that caused dehydration which sent me to the hospital where I effectively lost 10-15 lbs over the course of 3 days. That really pissed me off, all that hard work disappeared so quickly. So 1 year later I'm starting over, just trying to get stronger. Fuck gaining mass, my body just won't let me right now.
