Body-Shaming Buble Ignites Furor Among Females

Strawman. No one here compared the average woman to Marilyn Monroe.
Oh, I'm sorry, Grace Kelly. I don't see how saying Marilyn Monroe rather than Grace Kelly invalidates my point.

Go for it. As long as we agree that Kate Moss, thin as she is, was a waif model who snorted cocaine like a Dyson Big Ball.
What's the cocaine got to do with anything?

And I notice you avoided the point about BMI going down since 1950.

I didn't realize you had made a mistake. I thought you were actually suggesting someone had compared an average woman to Marilyn Monroe. I reacted because it seemed as if you were intentionally making a strawman.

As to whether that mistake invalidates your point, it probably doesn't. But your point focuses on weight. It's a bad idea to compare the weight of an average woman to the weight of a woman in the limelight (like Grace Kelly in the image I posted above). A woman who is in the limelight is probably going to do whatever it takes to appear attractive.

The study I linked to above shows that cocaine use suppresses appetite. So a one-time waif like Moss who was known to hoover the stuff, and may still do so, is a bad example of a contemporary woman of slight build. It'd be like comparing the physique of a college ball player with juicers Manny Ramirez or Mark McGwire.

To be honest, your point about BMI going down since 1950 is uninteresting to me. I haven't mentioned whether women overall are getting fatter or skinnier. I know AngryFiver highlighted that issue in the image he posted, but I didn't. So, I avoided your point. It's just not interesting to me.

My original post pointed out that we tend to poke fun at people with abnormal physiques. If we're all fatties, we'll make fun of skinny people. If we're all rails, we'll make fun of fatties.

The thing that makes me laugh is that women want men to stop making fun of their bodies. As if you can change human nature. But women are narcissists and delusional. That's funny to me.

Women make up the majority of our consumer base. Our day time TV base and operate on feelz. Of course everyone is gonna pander to them. Just par for the course.

"Most women are very sensitive"

that pretty much sums up the whole thread, no?
