Hey Adsense masters - I have a problem and need some expert advice.

Last week I bought a site that was using Adsense for monetization. Having never touched Adsense before, I had to open up a new account. Derp derp, right?

So I used the url of the site I bought in the application. The next day it's approved and change the onsite code to my pub id.

Ads got served for half a day, then I got an email saying my account was closed for "unacceptable site content"

What the fuck?

* the site was using adsense for months
* this is a totally clean google account I used
* all content is unique

I tried to think about it rationally, but it's google so they can throw reason out of the window. This afternoon I submitted the reinclusion request but I figure it's like telephone sex with a deaf girl.

My plan is to go drink heavily this Canada Day/July 4th and suck it up (lol adsonar lol adbrite), and never ever ever rely on google for anything other than a target for scraping.

So am I totally screwed on this site?

When applying for Adsense, you want to submit a site that is above board. Once accepted, you can begin placing the code on any site you own; even ones that probably wouldn't pass manual review which seems to be the case here.

You can open an Adsense account in another name but you need to becareful about logging into different accounts from the same computer/IP/browser. If it's worth it, your best bet is to buy a cheap netbook with a 3g connection to avoid any chance of mixing shit up. I've never been banned but this works fine for other things such as engage.

I would say you are screwed on that site though.

Makes sense. Probably such a noob mistake I made :)

As for the accounts, ip, etc - I'm real good about that, so I know this account was totally above board. It must have been a manual review.

Do you think that domain is nuked now even if I sold it back to the previous owner?

I don't know.. personally I would have issues with selling it without disclosing the issue to the buyer regardless of who they are but that's just me. As a buyer, I'd sure as fuck want to know about that and would feel cheated if I found out after the fact. I don't even know if it would be an issue.. perhaps but maybe not. I don't have any experience with being banned or getting back in etc.

Thanks for the info. I'll just let this site die a slow painful death. I told the seller about it. If he still wants to buy it, cool. If not, cool - not out to fuck someone over!

Doesn't the site have anything else going for it? PR, age, back links? All can be made use of.

If not just bung on a couple of affiliate offers, and see if anything works.
I once bought banned site, thinking i could get it into some of my existing cpm ad networks, but that failed. The traffic is pretty shitty, but I slapped on some clickbank crap and it sells once in a while.

I had the same problem with a few MFA sites I bought and slapped up on new adsense accounts.

You need to get 1 paycheck with a legit looking site that has lots of content before adding other crappy sites to the adsense account. As someone else mentioned they manually review after a few days and before issuing your first payment.

was the site really unacceptable? Would like to know this as well, as am in the process of acquiring a new site and getting a new account.

It's a "BuyCoolWidgets.com" type site with 12 or so unique pages about types of widgets, how to get a good deal, etc.

Is it MFA/unacceptable - Maybe? It's fine to me (but Im biased) but it's much better than 5sliceyellowtoastercoveredinrainbows.com Xfactor style sites or something similar.

There are some CPS affiliate links in it, but this type of product is not too fun to buy online, so just harvesting the clicks is where the money is at.

@vinnythejinny - Don't make my mistake, and go ahead and have a tip-top site ready ahead of time to get your account paying out.

Have you checked all of the content in copyscape? That is the message they also use for dupe content.
