Brock Lesnar VS. Shane Carwin

Junior Dos Santos smashed Werdum and anybody he's faced thus far so I think he's a decent contender besides Velasquez. But other than that, I don't know.

I don't know whether or not you actually saw the Dos Santos vs. Werdum fight, but saying that he "smashed him" leads me to believe you didn't. It was extremely early in the fight and Werdum ducked into an uppercut, it's not like he got the shit kicked out of him for multiple rounds. Dos Santos is a decent HW, but should not be ranked top 10 compared to other guys in the division that just aren't in the "big" promotion.

Heavyweights that need to be signed to the UFC roster ASAP IMO are Overeem, Werdum, Sergei Kharitonov, Antonio Silva, Fedor & Aleks. The rest aren't worth a shit. If they add even half guys I listed, the UFC HW division would improve dramatically.

...

Aleks has some sort of blood problem and can't be cleared to fight in the states

Doubt it's a "blood problem," pretty sure that was a bad translation of something Fedor said that got out of control. The issue was more with the fact that he's a convicted felon and former Russian mob member, hard to get a work permit in the states that way. If the issue were an infectious disease, I doubt he'd have been cleared for all his recent fights outside the US.

Dana said Fedor is too expensive and a headache to negotiate with, plus he also lost which doesn't help.

How does that not help? Now M-1 realizes they need to be more lax on their end because Fedor will actually need the UFC now to maintain his GOAT status.

Kharitonov signed for Strikeforce which is cool, I love watching that guy fight, excellent power puncher with good ground game and throws, he was also the last guy to put a brutal whooping on a pre-bulked up Overeem.

I'm not sure why you even mentioned Mark Hunt because he got knocked the fuck out by a middleweight recently. (Manhoef)

The Manhoef fight was years ago (and I'm a big Manhoef fan, btw), and Hunt could still take the bottom half of the current "Top 10 Heavyweights" without much issue.

Barnett got popped for roids multiple times and is a proven cheater, also beating a shot Mighty Mo with 0 ground game isn't really a big ask and doesn't give you top 10 status.

But Brett Rogers gets Top 10 status from... a win over a string of nobodies, KO'ing AA and then getting the shit kicked out of him twice against real competition?

I'm also willing to bet Barnett loses to both Nelson and Dos Santos quite easily.

Delusional. Barnett is no joke, he just hasn't been put against any decent competition lately.

Roy Nelson is a good solid fighter, legit black belt and very underrated. He could have finished Arlovski until the stupid ref stood it up from FULL MOUNT.

Underrated? Lol. Nelson is overrated as fuck, name one person worth a damn he's beaten -- you can't, yet he'll be "number 1 contender" with a win over Dos Santos? What a joke.

That makes no fucking sense. If Carwin didn't tap out, you know what would have happened? He would have passed out, and then Brock if he was in a bar, could literally KILL him. Since there would be 0 defense from Carwin. Carwin spent 4 minutes throwing punches, and even though he did do big damage, he didn't knock him out. While it took Brock less than a minute to have Carwin tap out, and only a few more seconds till having him pass out.

I guess you didn't see the first round. "hurr durr if the ref didn't stop the first round Carwin would've stayed on top of Brock and kept punching him in the face until police showed up."

awesome. the ref did the right thing by letting them fight it out. carwin went full force and it could have easily gone his way if a couple more of those crushing hands would have been direct hits. i am sure there is a II and a III already being discussed. UFC RULES!

anyone saying the fight have been stopped in round 1 is a retard. carwin hurt him, but he recovered when 100% of his punches started hitting his arms.

BROCK FTW

LOL, I saw the fight and Werdum was smashed by Dos Santos plain and simple, he got hit HARD which usually means you got smashed dude. There is no such thing as a lucky punch, he threw that with conviction. It's a knockout W.

I don't know the Aleks situation, there was the hepatitis thing and the mobster thing but who really knows. DW has also himself that he isn't going to waste his time with Fedor and he will never co-promote with M-1, unless Fedor leaves M-1 and decides to join to UFC on his own accord which will likely never happen.

The Manhoef fight was on NYE 2008 thus making it 2009, so it was only really a year and a half ago. I love Mark Hunt, esp his K-1 days, but he is 0-5 in his last 5, even though they were ALL VERY tough guys his most recent loss was against a natural middleweight who is bloating up. (Mousasi) He will NOT hang in the UFC. He could probably beat the guys coming off the TUF 10 season and really really green guys, but thats it. The UFC won't sign another gatekeeper who will never reach contender status. His name hasn't been thrown around MMA circles for years and theres a reason for that.

I'd also like to see what crackhead Top 10 HW list your looking at that has Rogers in it, that guy is lucky if he's even Top 15. There is no respectable top 10 list out there with him in it.

Barnett may be no joke but he is still a roid head and a cheater, I'm not saying other HWs don't use, but so far none of them have been caught TWICE, he single handedly put Affliction under due to his steroid use and I doubt the UFC would sign a guy with that kind of reputation.

Barnett has also lost to Rodrigo Nogueira who was the last decent guy he fought and Cro-Cop (x3) who aren't even contenders in the UFC. Minotauro and CC were obviously in better condition before, but you'd have to think Barnett has aged in that time too.

And I still stand by Roy Nelson being underrated or at least used to be, I never said he was a top fighter but his grappling awesome (beat Mir in a grappling tourney) and was beating a in form Arlovski until he was unfairly stood up.

Like it or not, if you do well in the UFC, you will get ranked higher, it is without a doubt the biggest organisation, hell half the people who posted here probably don't even know half the people we mentioned in this debate haha.
