BST sellers not very good at deadlines?

I don't know, there's enough people around to do the negative bitching thing, so I don't worry about it. However, I always give positive feedback where warranted. For example, picked up a few themes on ThemeForest just recently, one of which I really liked, so they got a nice note from me in their comments section, which will hopefully bring them a few extra sales.

I dont even pay attention to positives and reviews from certain people. I noticed a lot of sellers giving each other great reviews. I might be burning bridges here; but its the truth.

I buy a ton of services from here, and leave reviews when I do. There's no conspiracy involved. We all run sites and need a diversified backlink profile.

Its just an observation I made for myself.
I might be completely wrong: but coming from a world that uses fake reviews and before and after pictures. You can see why I have my concerns.

Honestly, the bump system is bad.

You try posting something insightful and brilliant on the 8th day of your 4th thread for the same old shit you've been selling for 6 months.

I can believe that. I think if I put as much effort into my sales copy as the average seller likely does when offering a service, I'd probably never want to write anything about it ever again.

It's a scenario were you have to educate or entertain people to keep things spicy... After that first sales copy, it's a little challenging talking about anything else; but that's where the opportunity lies. If you can be the outlier in BST and entertain/educate/inform people, then you can succeed.

Each bump is an opportunity that can be utilized to add more spice to each BST's thread's experience. But it's hard. It's like being a comedian and coming out every night for 14 days straight with new material. Coming out and giving 2 different shows a day, for 14 days straight.

I can't speak for anyone else but since the algorithm update I have been slammed with work more than ever. Not a whole lot of updates to give when my writers are still running through all the work I'm sending them.

I've purchased at least 10 services at this point and had 2 issues.

In one case it took some prodding on my part to get a report after the TAT was missed. It didn't surprise me since the communication was bad start to finish but the work was done (or close enough) so no big deal.

In the other case... not yet resolved... could easily lose me a client. This is not a very good client, so I don't mind too much losing them if it comes to that - and I am an idiot for trusting some random service provider... and this seller, look, all good iTraders...

... there have been long delays compared to what is promised. 1-4 days turn into 2 weeks. 10 days turn into a month. No communication and PMs go unanswered.

Is this the norm?
No, this is not the norm... I only signed up for WF because of the BST section (spend very little time in STS etc.) and have rarely had this problem...

That said... i am concerned that the standards have slipped recently and i've had more issues in the past 2 months than i did the for the 12 months prior! It's mainly with new members/service providers though.

This is my philosophy as well. I don't bother kicking up a bitch fest, trying to school the provider, or demand a refund. I just walk away, and never give them a cent of my money again. Being a dick to them just wastes my time, and pisses them off -- doesn't accomplish anything at the end of the day.
I was also like that until recently but i now think that staying quiet doesn't help the community as a whole. I'm with thehobbster on this... let the community know who the shitbags are!

In all honesty... this is one of the main reasons why i stay away from BHW, TP etc, but it's not a huge problem here on WF

I also think its time we got some new Mods over in BST... not sure when Zingo last logged in... i'm guessing he's moved on to bigger and better things!

True.

Also, there are not just fake positive reviews, there are fake negative reviews as well. Shit goes both ways..

For the providers I've come across, the cause is either they are either too optimistic or they outsource things to someone else.

About 85% of my orders are late, some of which are under-delivered to screwed up all together. On the plus side, I never had someone NOT deliver and walk away with the money.

I notice that link/seo providers like to disappear if they are behind or fucked something up. I can totally deal with delays. However, if you decide not to respond to me when you have my money -then you will get to see Aggro-Vin destroy you with his mastodon dick. It's like making a reservation at a fancy restaurant only to find the doors looked when you get there with your tranny date.

I've been late a ton of times with orders. Shit happens. But, be on the ball and let your custy's know what's up.

right now I have one that was supposed to be delivered in 10 days. Its turned into 30 days and he has not responded to my email yesterday. Will make a paypal claim starting tomorrow if no communication. 99% respond promptly to that.

Exactly, communication is key.

That's they one thing I try to stress to whenever someone comes to me for advice. Always always communicate and don't pull a disappearing acting. People don't learn...

I am not going to act like I don't break deadlines all the time myself. I have customers I do linkbuilding for too (businesses, not affiliates) and I frequently take longer to deliver. However, I am on Skype with all of them and reply quickly if they email. I also usually throw in some freebie if I went over time. I also help them out if they want to ask me a quick queston without charging. Maybe that is why I have repeat business for far more than people charge in the BTS.

That's how it's suppose to be done. Those small conversations and over delivery when not on-time help with Goodwill. It's hard to get mad at someone giving you free advice and giving you extra when your order is a little late.

There wasn't as much diversity as I thought so I can only assume (probably incorrectly) that word of mouth plays a large part in promotions.

Actually you are correct. Word of mouth is huge in selling services, and many of the biggest providers on this forum don't even use threads in BST. Once a provider builds up a following, word of mouth and referrals tend to provide the bulk of business as time goes on.

Same thing for me, but I dont give reports out and I also normally do not "notify" you that your order is done either.

I start on order typically 2 days after I get them and I stay slammed with work daily. If people have issues ( which do come up ) I try my best to accommodate them and make it right, but communication can be hard when you are always "doing" at times.

Im pretty helpful via email and Skype though.

Yeah, just like I ignore the guys that do nothing but post instant replies in every BST for review copies.

Anyone that's posting in every thread begging for a review copy is hardly someone I want to read a review from.

The delayed period is usually calculated by this equation :

Your I.Q * number of hours * 1

Since we all have low IQ's we get very less delay.

But since you have extremely high IQ, be prepared to have extremely long delays.
