Buenos Aires anyone?

How are actually the living costs over there? Seems a so much cooler place to live than all the Asian "exit" options.

I'll make a thread on that in short.

But just want to say that even though escorts can be insanely cheap (measured in dollars for an USA average salary), . One night stands can be considered an achievement , though males from first world countries have it much easier.

Fuck. It's fucking insane.... as european its really not that hard to pick up girls here. The date with above chick went pretty "well" even though we had some difficulties talking, which changed after the first blunt (btw weed is around 1 USD per gram if you buy >1 ounce).

but picking up girls in nightclubs turned out to be not that hard as long as you have a bottle of champaign in your hand and mention that you're european instantly.
so the usual thing that happened the last couple nights:
1.) le superdrunk me approaching a chick
2.) le chick giving me weird looks like "what do you want you drunk fuck"
3.) le me "do you speak english? you soy aleman!"
4.) BIG smile on chicks face
5.) ????
6.) PROFIT

also there is this huuuuuuuge motherfucking nightclub, called teraza or something with >3k people with 70% chick-ratio, and I don't have to tell you that pretty much all of them are smoking hot. I dont know what they have in their genes, but man I never saw so much beauty packed in one place. Pretty much had the best week of my life so far.

Short term rentals are from about $800 per month up: http://www.bytargentina.com. I pay about $450 but that's because I am on a long term contract (min term of 2 years). Inflation is about 25% and its effects are noticable. Groceries/clothes/dinner/drinks cost either the same, or more than in the UK - the only things cheaper are property prices, rent, public transport. Cars and electrical items cost twice as much as in the UK.

Whilst Rio is more picturesque, surrounded by beaches, I found it a lot quieter during the week and a bit of a let down (more expensive than here too). Whereas in Buenos Aires you can go out any day of the week. And if the language is an issue: http://www.pubcrawlba.com/ usually has big groups of both locals and English speaking. http://www.fcbafa.com/en/ for regular football.

It's a great place to base yourself and go on mini trips around the continent from. Uruguay is very, very quiet, except punta del este during summer (dec-feb down here).

A lot of people just come to Buenos Aires and then move on to the next country. But there's so much variance here alone and places worth seeing as people have already said, particularly for the natural world (frozen South, desert/tropical North):

- El Calafate/Chalten (Perito moreno glacier and Fitz Roy, image search these places)
- Bariloche / Villa La Angostura (recovering from the Chilean volcano)
- Ushuaia
- Cordoba
- Mendoza
- Iguazu Falls
- Salta/Tucuman/Jujuy
