here's my review on the just-completed 500 comment backlink run from siberia77.
the good
* VERY, VERY FAST! forget 72 hours, this was under 72 minutes! i sent my info in and about an hour later the report was ready! wow! obviously this was not done manually (xrumer? - personally i don't care manual v. automated by i know some people do)
* i ordered 500 link but got back 694 according to the report!
* i sampled about 30-40 pages and my links we there as specified
* some of the blogs had PR
* about 20% of the blogs sampled had single digits comments, some just a couple!
* varied comments - comments left weren't all the same
* good, prompt communication
* good, clean report
the not so good
* i didn't see any dofollow links, but i would hope that among the near 700 links i received some of them would be dofollow (maybe i need to sample swath wasn't wide enough??)
* on about 15-20% of the blogs i sampled the OBLs were off the charts, four figures and spammed out
* comments were off topic
overall
like the OP says if you want to kickstart a new website and gain presence and get indexed on the net this may be a good way to go for the price. for $8 i'm confident this would be get your site noticed by the search engines and i do agree that there isn't much in the way of downside.
however, if you are an established website looking for some extra link juice i'm not sure how helpful this will be since i didn't see any dofollow links in my sample. perhaps the OP can clarify the #/% of the dofollow v. nofollow.

Thanks for the review Damik. I would just say that of course the comemnts are OT, they have to be generic in nature due to the sheer volume of the sites I am posting to. I state clearly in my listing that its a mix of follow and dofollow, as the urls i post to for each client are randomly pulled from my large database. Finally, PR means nothing, its a vanity award that has nothing to do with your serps, and at no time have I represented this service as anything to do with PR.
