buy or build an affiliate application?

I want to start an affiliate system (web based) where our affiliate clients can log in and track their earning through referrals (PPC), lead conversation etc. We want to work on leads and lead conversions mainly. Any suggestion for scripts, we have a good technical team, should we buy or build?

Maybe you want to look through the forum and do some research before posting your question.

WF functions more along the lines of a do-it-yourself and get some elbow grease in system, rather than a yahoo answers....

I heard the search function returns shockingly relevant results...
