Buy The Boss A Chirstmas Present

I can't even believe people find time to post about $25 on this forum.

Hello Kettle! Can you say "hypocrite"?

I didn't say he shouldn't do it did I? For what it's worth it's not like he has much choice in the matter. I was just simply pointing out that it's not normal and is often frowned upon, especially in larger corporations, to be buying the boss presents.

All of my corporate jobs have had a Kris Kringle thing, which the boss is usually part of... So this strikes me as a little odd if you're not doing it for everyone.

If you want to suck up, and don't want to be part of the group thing, find something that shows you've actually put thought into the gift, and that you "know" your boss better than the other workers. It'll single you out as someone that takes initiative if you get them something they legitimately like.

Lastly, if you actually like your boss as a person, is there anything wrong with giving them a gift? Gift giving to people you like is pretty normal.

I was also referring to myself, which is why I intended that to be my last response. But really, the idiotic things people post about in STS is mindblowing at times. I mean really, $25?

Some dude needs advice from strangers on what he should do about a $125 camera from ebay?

What is this, Dear Abby?

The company is small. 15 employees. This isn't a multi-national. Companies with low turnover and staffs under 20 usually develop a family like atmosphere with time. That has been my corporate experience.

Anyway, I have better things to do than keep talking about $25. I suspect you do to. Peace.
