calories.com 4 sale at $600,000...overpriced?

Consider some of the very best domain in the world have sold for only 1-2 million and this isn't one of the best domains in the world. It is good but I'd personally say it's worth something more in the 100-200k range based on previous sales.

As someone else pointed out... it's worth only as much as someone is willing to pay for it. It hasn't sold yet.

Imagine if some diet company decided they wanted to focus a major ad campaign around calories.com... the sky's the limits.

I'm curious as to why the OP asked the question in the first place? Looking to make an acquisition?

each domain is unique, so it takes one man with a big idea and large resources and it will be gone, forever most likely

dudu.com just sold for $1mil
so the logic why it's still off the market is because the 'market' is still not ready for that pricetag yet
, $300k sounds more realistic (psychologically) for today for a startup to fork out

Rick Schwartz bought property.com for $750k and a few years later sold it for $4mil, still opportunities out there

About a year ago, Gay.com came out with a dating offer and I thought it would convert like crazy given the domain.

Tried it out on Facebook, lost $100 quickly and currently it has a .04 EPC on Commission Junction.

How much would you guys pay for Gay.com if it was available? LOL

The domain name has nothing to do with a shitty sales funnel and backend processing.

Ill split the asking price with another member and build it out to complement my upcoming fat loss product. Also think about the offers beyond just CB ads or affiliate products but everything from L.A. fitness to whole foods looking to buy ad space at high CPM since the demographics would be spot on with the site.

It's a solid domain for sure. If someone pays 600k, then it's worth the price to that person or company. The reality is that a domain is only truly worth what someone will pay for it.

Completely agree, no other way to put it
