Tried looking on oDesk but seems like a hit or a miss. Would rather work with someone you guys recommend or have worked with.

Basically I need to have a theme converted into Bootstrap 3 so my developer can implement it into my ecommerce site.

Not sure if you've heard of it before but there's this crazy ass site called Goggles or something that basically is like a yellow pages for the entire internet!! It's crazy

https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site%3Adribbble.com+"bootstrap+3"

Thanks for the dribble and behance search tips though, I'll check them out.

So you have a "Developer" who can work with your "Ecommerce site" but can't figure out how to source or integrate a bootstrap theme into it?

Sounds like you have bigger problems than you think. But no worries- you're a fucking SCIENTIST, right?

lol'd hard.

Basically I'm creating my site on Spree Commerce, it's a Ruby on Rails ecommerce platform. Themeing on the platform can we done natively via Skeleton/defacing. Since that's really time consuming and difficult, there's a Rails extension that switches out the entire Spree front end for a Twitter Bootstrap front end. Unfortunately it only accepts Bootstrap 3, which makes finding a compatible theme for the specific needs of my store very difficult. Given that my developer specializes primarily in the back end and AngularJS, I need a designer to code a Bootstrap 3 theme to my needs in a SASS format that my developer can then code into Spree.

Anyway, thanks for all the help guys. I think I'm close to finding someone to work with on this.

Good sport- but holee shit, methinks you really ARE a scientist...

Don't you think you are over-complicating the SHIT out of this? Ever heard of Python/Django?

Just sayin...

Haha yeah, I sort of dug myself into this because we had to move away from Shopify since it wasn't customizable enough. Because of the nature of my site, I had to pick between Magento and a number of other open-source platforms. I ended up choosing Spree because of it's development flexibility and speed. I always knew design would be an issue though, so I'm just dealing with that now. Design came up faster than I thought.

Development has been pretty smooth so far in general, though.

I originally considered Python/Django because I did a competitive analysis and discovered one of my competitors built a site from the ground up using the Django framework. I was able to gather some corporate intelligence and decided it wouldn't be the best route given that I'll be handling thousands of products and my competitor was having issues with managing everything without a tried and trued ecommerce platform like Magento. All that and the price tag for developing something from the ground up was too costly at this point.

Good luck, bro- problem is, for a truly functional, multi (1000's) product ecom platform, there IS no truly reliable & scalable "off-the-rack" solution. Spend it now or spend much more later, all I can say.

Your budget better be in the mid 5-figs or better just to get into Beta. Been there, done that.

Like I said, Good luck, bro.

We're operating on a lower five-figure budget for the beta but I know I'll need to bootstrap it to the mid five-figures for the second iteration of the site. Good point though, that's one reason I opted for Spree. It can scale nicely to a point on servers like Ninefold, Digital Ocean, and Amazon EC2. Just the staging platform is on four dedicated servers monitored by New Relic for crash reporting, and the database software to handle the products will utilize next-generation database algorithms with Neo4j that'll keep things as reliable and scaleable as possible.

It's been 9 months in planning so far, so I'm just glad we're finally getting off the ground as of last week. I guess I should start a journal on here since I've learned a shit ton along the way.

Your developer can only movement bootstrap themes into your ecommerce site? He must be an idiot. Get a developer who knows what he is doing and the whole problem is moot.m

I'll pm you some people when I'm at my desk.
