Can one be sued for this?

Mates here is what i got:

my friend is running business in nyc. let say carpet cleaners.
he has office in brooklyn. but cause of location(too far from manhattan) his google place listing is not doing good.

i am doing local seo for him. if i will change the adress to some in manhattan, can we got problems? i saw a lot of fake listings... moneywise it very good move, but what about law?

You can't be sued for this, but you should be sued for being such a pussy.

There was a huge thread about this a while back ... I think smaxor posted it but not sure. The subject was an obvious affiliate who was setting up geotargeted payday loan landers and getting them ranked in Google Local using virtual offices. He had physical mailing addresses and phone numbers with appropriate area codes on the site, serving more than a dozen markets all promoting the same backend offer. Fucking awesome stuff, and I hope that guy banked like crazy on it.

Nothing about that is going to get you sued, although it seems a fairly easy thing for Google to sniff it out and remove the site.

lol) nice man. i am not a pussy, i just don't want to invest A lot of efforts and time in ranking good for some COMPETETIVE term in google places, and than loose my SEPR because the customer/competiton will claim place didn't exist...

yeah man, this is what i am afraid of... removing/droping the site/google place in local seprs...

Seems like virtual adress is the way to go... Just contacted manhattan based virtual adress company. They have multiple companies on the adress i can buy from them. I.ve read that it can be a problem ranking a place when somebody else has the same adress. Though it is common thing for NYC lawers/doctors when they have shared adress, but not 10 companies on one! lol) will ask them to tell me adress i can buy and than check in google places if anybody claimed the business on that adress.

If you get caught, CONSEQUENCES WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!!111!

You've been warned...

then why does your title sound that way? you should have said that you are worried about losing the rankings, not getting sued.

you are right man, but i can't change the name of thread now. and i guess it's better to continue this one than to start the new, since some guys were posting about Virtual Office.

So here is what i got: there is the company who sells virtuall offices for 25/month - i need just adress. so the adress they give is 347 5th Avenue, Suite 1402-XYZ, New York, NY. Each virtual office has different last 3 numbers.... but google treat that adress as 347 5th Ave, New York, NY 10016. It's a huge building at shows that it has by now 137 businesses.
