Can you rank with a single page website?

Yes you can rank it without having much trouble with 500 -100 words content if your targeted keyword is longtailed or less competitive. & if its not longtailed & littlemore competitive than less, you can say medium competition then build backlinks until you get the ranking. But Make sure to diversify the anchors. like

60 to 60% Primary keyword:40-35% longtailed or related keywords & Raw link anchors.

it move up smoothly & make you in top SERPS : ) I have tested & it works with medium competitive niches

Yeah, I've done it, but don't recommend it.

This x100000.

Just create a regular site where you can gradually add content on the other pages. Having one page gives you limited opportunities to rank because if you try to go after too many keywords, Google will just flag you for "over optimizing".

For a bit, however, all the one pagers I own (literally one pagers, no privacy policy or anything) got absolutely nuked by Panda; from having reasonable rankings (one example: #14 for a 400k exacts high pricetag term, another, #2 for a 7k exacts $30 CPA term) down to not being in the top 100. Not a huge sample size (about 5 sites) but yeah, 100% of them.

Necropost.

Can you rank with a single page website?
Definitely Yes! There is no matter how many pages you have, what matters is how relevant that page to the keyword you want to rank for, and what kind of sites linking to it.

Yeap, I have Home | Contact | Privacy with 1500 words on home ranking #1 for 7 million competing results in quotes. Quality content, lots of titles/subtitles, lots of pics and one video. Don't just add a bunch of text. If that much content is looking stupid on a certain topic you can put the article in a tab, no problem.

Hey, guys! Is it possible to rank a website that consists of one single content page(500 - 1000 words or maybe 250 words+video) + about us, privacy, etc ?

Still possible & not too difficult depending on the niche. Quality matters more than anything! Quality content & quality backlinks. This is a single content page + privacy policy/contact. I usually go after atleast 10 longtail keywords with a couple large traffic money keywords. The main page has 1000 words with 2 images. Onpage SEO is just as important as backlinks! 0_o

One page website may rank well in search results but could give you faulty conversion in your analytic. In addition, one page websites have low competition against well-distributed contents of more than two page websites since the crawling activity may be more active in the latter.

Since this threads still alive.

Having a tiny website isn't necessarily a bad thing. For newer sites that want to rank for more competitive terms I've found it works out better then having more pages of "quality content".

For some reason home pages rank better. Before you shit on 1 pagers try sticking a few thousands words on a home page and blasting it with links.

No is the answer because content is King! Having a dynamic pages will help you to rank your website although there are some websites that ranked high but this is just a temporary until Google caught these websites.

Yes it is possible but I think its not an easy job. I never recommend a new bie to go for such kind of idea.

It depends on whats on the page :) but yes, try to pick a good keyword and you should be ok, just keep at it!

bottom line is you can rank anything with enough links, even post panda/penguin.

The single page tool sites seem to be doing ok, so it depends on the utility of the page.

Just remember that every time you make a mistake, you know what not to do for next time.

It could be yes or not depend on keyword, SEO etc.

Yes , if very low competition and you do right seo.

This can be use for service or selling site type.

example:
barber shop service in ohio

i found: schurmansbarberservice com in 1st page

Yes, it happens all the time, but it takes just a few dollars to quickly slap another 10 relevant pages so why not do it?
