BS fight. Good thing my love of money won out over my hate of Mayweather but did you see how many times Canelo had a clear headshot and didn't take it? Smells like BS to me. Then in the only round where Canelo connects a good headshot Mayweather looks pissed and says something to him after the bell.
clearly Mayweather had this, even watching previous Canelo fights you can see how much slower he is compared to Floyd. Great to see how much of a humble winner he is, always starting off with positive comments towards the opponent in the post fight interviews. Appreciate the link 2yl From WF, great feed!
Another technical masterpiece from Floyd, but god what a boring ass fight. I long for the days when great fighters didn't just want to win, but to hold up their opponents severed heads in their raised arms.
In the last two rounds there was absolutely no reason for Canelo to not turn into a brawler, try to get Floyd to square up, and then go for the knockout. At that point who cares if you risk getting knocked out if your purpose is to win. That was his only hope of winning at that point (and really way earlier than those rounds). But a loss by decision doesn't look as bad on the record as a knockout, and that translates into better money his next fight out.
Can't blame him for not going for it, but it sure as hell doesn't make for great entertainment.

Canelo tried to brawl fight him a couple of times, it just didnt work. He tried a bunch of stuff over the 12 rounds and it all fell flat in front of mayweathers ability to gauge his movements, counter, slip, and set up safe combinations off his jab and get out of the way. You have to consider that it can get very demoralizing to throw good punches at a guy for 36 minutes and not be able to land a single clean shot. At a certain point you are just going to kind of stand there like "fuck"
