Makes you wonder of how much stuff that you read online you can actually believe. I'd put it at <50% when looking at forums.
 
Saw this the other week. This movie reinforces what many of us already know after spending years on teh interwebz:

1. There are no wimenz on teh interwebz.

The GF brings this home from the little local movie store she likes to support and within 15 minutes of starting the film I knew where this was headed. I assume its the same for most other people who have a grasp on how much fake/crazy/weird shit is on the internet.
One thing which I found kind of disturbing was that he remains "friends" with her and stays in contact with her. I also thought it was beyond weird that the husband clearly never knows what happened and presumably doesnt ever find out. Obviously that guy was a bit challenged as well and I think that the Catfish is a crazy cunt that might possibly need to be committed rather than in charge of taking care of that family. Then again, who the fuck else would deal with the boys and the husband? I really hope that things work out for the little girl. :(
 
Ya, WTF did I just watch?

For some reason, I thought it was a live action suspense film based on a true story and didn't realize it was a doc until I rented it.

Mildly interesting...but sad.

I can't believe that he's still friends with this chick. I wouldn't run in the other direction.
 
The problem is they knew they were being conned, and decided to play a cheap trick on a psychologically impaired woman living an unhappy life with her special needs children. The "filmmakers" should be ashamed they turned those kids into the sideshow freaks of their douchebag circus.

lmao, same here - except an AM from a certain affiliate network recommended this movie to me. Still haven't watched it :|
 
Just saw it. This is my review

. If nobody tells you "how good the movie is" after the first 10 minutes you would stop watching it.
. With so many real-life cases of facebook encounters that end up with someone getting killed, you have enough incentive to expect somethin horrible to happen in the film as well.
. The movie is absolutely dissapointing, even more is the so-called amazing twist by the end of the movie, no twist at all.
