Anyone know of cheap and /or free place to park in downtown boston? Friend I haven't seen in almost a decade is in town and lunch is on him @ the hub at the prudential building, trying not to pay an arm and a leg for parking

Also for good measure..

From what I understand from the last time I was in Boston, can't you take the T pretty much anywhere?

is that a picture of your friend?

I have a few friends with apt's in boston so I can always park at their places...you, however, are fucked. There is no such thing as cheap, and definitely not as free, parking in downtown boston. Why don't you park a T stop or two outside the city and ride in from there? Free parking, $2 train ticket.

I WISH that was a picture of my friend, unfortunately, my friends a dude, lol. great idea chat, gracias, most T stations have free parking yes?

I always park at a specific garage right next to the Government Center, run across the street and jump on the T. (Garage is $10 for the night!)

Where are you coming from? Sometimes, if I don't want to drive into the city, I will drive to the Melrose or Danvers train, park (like 3 or 4 bucks...) Take the train to North Station and venture off... all depends, you don't HAVE to pay a boat load.

Lunch on him at the hub and you're worried about $35 in parking?

Seriously? I bet you ask servers at restaurants to split the check according to what you ordered when you're out with friends

Well obviously there is not free parking at the T stations downtown. But the ones right outside the city, yeah. Depends on where you're coming from. Check a map:

You could find a place to park in Cambridge, hop on the red line and go inbound to Park ST/Green to prudential. The other end of the red line is good too. Like said, I always park in the city at friends' apartments, so I'm not familiar with the outer T stops. But if you find one with the commuter rail there too (that light purple line, see the key), there should be some parking.

EDIT: There is parking everywhere there is a "P" haha

Actually yeah, just looked at the t-line, braintree will be my best bet since i'm comin from RI. thanks all for the quick responses
