I'm doing some Adwords work for a small biz whose main way of tracking success is how often their phone rings. So, conversion tracking is pretty useless unless there's some way of tracking how often certain campaigns/ad groups make the phone ring.
My thought was to get 5-10 virtual phone numbers with a local area code, assign them to particular ad groups, and in that manner have a kind of ghetto conversion tracking setup. Unfortunately can't track it down to the keyword that way, but it's the best I can come up with for a biz that doesn't have the money for a more elaborate tracking scheme.
That being said, anyone know a good source for cheap virtual phone numbers?
