Chick-fil-A hates gays?

The solution to this problem is of course to remove all mention of 'marriage' in
the law and give everyone 'civil unions' which of course would be legally the
same as the previous definition of 'marriage' without the man and woman
requirement.

Let the churches figure out if they want to marry two dudes or two women
but keep the government out of it.

In one respect I disagree. 'Marriage' should be the secular term for the
social/legal commitment made. Whatever additional ceremonies are performed,
whether making a promise to a deity or hugging a tree, they shouldn't be
allowed to call it 'marriage'.

I think it is atrocious in this day and age that religious organisations are
allowed to belittle and undermine a couple's commitment to each other
just because it wasn't sanctified by a clergyman. In their warped, jumped-up
little minds they think the ceremony is the important part. They're dead
fucking wrong.

From a societal/legal standpoint, the ceremony is completely insignificant; it
is the commitment that is of total importance, and it should be this which is
awarded the label of 'marriage'. The ceremony held by a clergy is just a piece
of theatre to make the bride feel important for a day, and it's about time this
was made absolutely clear to everyone involved.

TLDR: The church can go fuck itself.

lol I was just scraping their site for my first php scraper as it was the top story on google trends.

So far:
-parses the html and cleans
-finds the body tag
-finds paragraph tag
-finds image inside paragraph(main content)
-populates div tags with the content and image, excluding crap at the top and bottom
-adds tags
-saves the generated html page as chickfila.html on the server after running. Then viewable by going to mydomain.com/chickfila.html

need to do:
-query strings in the content for repeated keywords to extract into tags and an accompanying "blog post"

I'm a php newb and it still requires some manual tweaking for each site, but it's going to be so fucking sick when I can just drop a url in from google trends and generate a page with the article, a blog post, images, tags, etc

plussed lol - can't they run you outta Texas for a pic like that?!!

I think it's great the CEO of a major corp publicly takes a controversial stance. I could give a fuck less what that stance happens to be...whether he worships satan or hates puppies...don't give a shit. Just get tired of living in a nation full of pussies afraid to speak their beliefs due to the retardation that is political correctness.

If you don't care about a CEO saying he hates puppies, then should you care about people saying they hate a CEO for saying that?

He exercised his freedom of speech and then others did the same by saying they will no longer eat there, or that they will eat there more often, etc. I haven't noticed anyone saying that law enforcement should step in and prevent people from speaking.

"Officials in at least three cities have vowed to block efforts to open Chick-fil-A restaurants after the company’s president told reporters that he supported the traditional definition of marriage – and warned that redefining marriage might bring God’s judgment on the nation.

“Chick-fil-A values are not Chicago values,” said Mayor Rahm Emanuel in a statement to the Chicago Tribune. “They disrespect our fellow neighbors and residents.”
Emanuel was vowing his support for Alderman Proco Moreno’s announcement that he would block construction of a Chick-fil-A restaurant in his district.
“If you are discriminating against a segment of the community, I don’t want you in the First Ward,” he told the newspaper."

Suppressing a company from doing business over a CEO's religious beliefs is beyond my scope of understanding. Rahm isn't the only one either who expressed these types of feelings either.

I agree, and Muslims should also be able to have mosques on property they own, such as at the spot near ground zero. I wonder what the Chick-fil-A man's opinion was on that issue?

Nope, and I don't care..like I said, I only care that he publicly took a controversial stance on an issue and was supported and rewarded for it. That's the extent of my caring.

The whole issue is stupid. Forget about the fact that gays can't get married as that's a stupid idea in of itself. But these mayors telling this guy he can't open up businesses in their city because his opinions are out of line with their own is fucking scary shit.

Further, all the idiot fucks cheering that shit on are going to be sad pandas when a conservative is in office and tells someone who's trying to open a gay bar to go get fucked because he doesn't believe in gay bars. They will be the first ones screaming and crying about it.

"this isn’t about curtailing anyone’s rights under First Amendment. The Constitution is a legal document. This is not a legal argument. No one is arguing that Chik-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy should be put in prison, or silenced, or censored by the government. This has nothing to do with government censorship or government abridgment of Freedom of Speech."

I checked my facebook today and saw a few people complaining about it. Had no clue what happened but I could guess from my facebook feed. I really didn't care to look it up, but it definitely made me want to get some chick-fil-a because it sounded good. Dinner was good.

The mayor doesn't have the power to tell Chick-Fil-A they can't open a store in Boston. All he did was write a letter telling them they wouldn't be welcomed. They can still choose to open a store in Boston, if they'd like.
