Chick-fil-A hates gays?

And welfare unemployment section 8 disability food stamps only can apply, only 90% of blacks will qualify, but only 10% can read the paperwork!!

If you don't care about a CEO saying he hates puppies, then should you care about people saying they hate a CEO for saying that?

He exercised his freedom of speech and then others did the same by saying they will no longer eat there, or that they will eat there more often, etc. I haven't noticed anyone saying that law enforcement should step in and prevent people from speaking.

I agree, and Muslims should also be able to have mosques on property they own, such as at the spot near ground zero. I wonder what the Chick-fil-A man's opinion was on that issue?

Do you not really see the difference between the two?

Unfortunately my 10 year old is at camp, otherwise we would definitely find a chickfila where the protest would be congregating. We still might. I think it would give us much to discuss but I would start with the most important for an American: The right to to freedom of peaceful assembly and freedom of speech.

It does affect your life, you just don't realize it.

Look, I'm not a Christian and I could give two fucks what the gays do or who anyone marries. Marry a fucking goat on Jesus's B-day, I truly could give a shit less.. but like it or not, this nation was founded on a set of religious beliefs and morals and the further we drift away from that foundation the weaker we become and the more susceptible we are to falling right off the edge of that cliff of which we are currently teetering. That's how nations fall, they lose their values first.

This shit isn't incidental, the very people who own the system, also wish to make us weaker as a whole... to divide us even more, it benefits them if we are unable to all come come together under a uniting belief system.

I don't expect to convince you of this, but it's the truth. I know you're an emotional creature, and are reacting to what you think is a just cause but try to keep an open, logical mind about it.

Again, up until just a few years ago... I was right there with you. Why would I give a fuck what two gay webmasters do? Who gives a shit? Well, they have the freedom to openly be together and be who they are, I think that's pretty damn free, but to change the definition of marriage and alter the very belief system underneath it is a slippery slope. I wish we lived in a where world where it wasn't so.. Where "progress" was all that mattered.. but we don't, and it's not. Human nature doesn't work like that.

And, I'm sorry, but that's shitty parenting. There is a difference between freedom, and confusing the shit out of your impressionable 10 year old.

It's sad that you think that, besides demonstrating peaceful assembly, teaching tolerance and respect is too confusing for a 10 year old to comprehend.

You think teaching a 10 year old to protest a business because the CEO is a religious man and holds standard religious beliefs about the definition of marriage is somehow teaching him tolerance? What you are doing is teaching him to be intolerant towards people with religious beliefs, which is a far greater number of people in the world that those who thinks gays should be allowed to marry. With mothers like you it's easy to see how the men in your country have been turned into such complete pussies.

In one respect I disagree. 'Marriage' should be the secular term for the social/legal commitment made.

Marriage has always been the religious term for it, why should the definition be changed for gays? The gay marriage argument started because many felt it was unfair that gays do not have the same legal standing as heterosexual couples, which is understandable. Now that many people agree and would be happy to give gays couples the same rights under a secular term "civil union", gays are not happy with that and want it to be called "marriage". So it wasn't the equal rights that really mattered, it was all about a big "Fuck You" to religious people everywhere, wasn't it?

TLDR: The church can go fuck itself.

That's what I thought. Now who is being intolerant?

The solution to this problem is of course to remove all mention of 'marriage' in the law and give everyone 'civil unions' which of course would be legally the same as the previous definition of 'marriage' without the man and woman requirement.

Let the churches figure out if they want to marry two dudes or two women but keep the government out of it.

This is a perfect solution that would provide equal rights to everyone, without pissing off half the population for desecrating a timeless religious ceremony. However, after watching politics in your country for years from afar, I know that you guys will find a way to fuck it up.

Like Chianti showed above, it isn't about equal rights, it's about pissing off religious people. Intolerance and hypocrisy at its finest.

When it comes to hate, ignorance and culture play a huge part. No demonstration or law will change the minds of most people.

But changing the culture of the US people will definitely undermine their very own identity as a world power. Otherwise, do you think that invading countries and killing hundreds of thousands of innocents all over the world for decades would have been validated over and over again?.

Maybe I misunderstood but aren't there going to be a bunch a gay people making our in their usual flamboyant fashion? They are going to be going all out trying to make a point. No way in fuck is that good for a ten year old to see.

Ever wonder why there is a push by the media to get more homosexuality in front of our children? From the sitcoms to the music culture to the neutering of the traditional macho male image...it's to pervert us a society. To weaken us. To conquer us.

I'm sorry but you have been manipulated and decieved. It's ok, I was too.

It's clear you still have prejudicial notions of the scary homos. I could say that most of them are just like you and me and would really like to be treated as such. But you know what? You won't believe me, so why don't you go down there and see for yourself? The point that I would be trying to make to my child (or anyone) is they are no different than us and it's your fear that makes them different. They want to be recognized as normal citizens with the same rights as everyone else.

The only way to truely understand that is to see it. Will there be gays making out, obnoxiously? Maybe, but that's not much different than what you see occasionally with straights. I have a feeling most will just be handholding and quick loving kisses.

When you see people expressing love and have a problem with this, it's time to seriously examine wtf is wrong with you.

Very very different.

Honestly though, I'm glad there is at least one of the militant pro-gay-marriage people posting on this forum. I want to know what makes you tick on this issue. Why are you so angry and hostile? What's the problem here?

I mean what's wrong with disliking two unattractive people flagrantly engaging in sexual behavior in front of you for the express purpose of showing it off?

It's terrible, tacky, tasteless. Keep your sexual proclivities, gay or straight, front hole or back hole, in your own bedroom.

If gay marriage was totally legitimized and had been for some time, gay dudes wouldn't be fucking on street corners any more than they already are. I think part of the over-the-top displays of gayness are them responding to being repressed their whole lives. Sort of how gay webmasters are always dickrolling each other. If other websites didn't completely shun it and actually accepted it, they wouldn't have a field day with it here.

This is the same type of the thing that was said about women getting the right to vote, Elvis shaking his hips, and Hooters restaurant. Gay marriage exists in many countries and nobody's head has exploded. The founding fathers (their heads might explode if they saw wickedfire) purposely created a form of government with the ability to adapt and change.

Marriage has always been the religious term for it,

Marriage predates the major religions. There were gay marriages in ancient Rome, some involving emperors.

Who knew guerrilla was right about you.

Well, if there is one thing he and I agree on, it is the basics of property rights. Yes, the two situations are "different", but so are disney.com and wickedfire, but neither need to be banned.
