sorry to bump a month old thread but i was curious did volsh go downhill and stay downhill or was this recovered?

I found this thread searching for a decent vps hosting. I emailed volsh inquiring about their vps but haven't had a reply in a few days (which is an automatic negative IMHO), added with this thread I just wanted to confirm if i should just stay far away or not?
 


Heh did they go downhill? Meh still a sour taste in my mouth from my last post and today my dedicated server has been down since 8am (when I checked it this morning) and their live chat is 'offline' and no one answered the phone when I called.

I think their 24/7 support is intended to be the bot that auto replies saying your trouble ticket was received. I really need to ditch these guys. Who else can give me a dedicated box for $150 a month?
 
I just got off the phone with James at Volsh (6 hours later) and apparently this issue was because I got busted by the Massachusetts Attorney General's office regarding a DMCA takedown notice. All the same usually hosts should contact you about the issue...
 
James r u around? Need to talk to you asap. On the volsh chat those guys are saying u r not around and asked me to email you. I emailed you on all your email ids and still waiting for your reply. Please get in touch with me asap.

DMCA, SPAM, all that stuff you (the client) are typically contacted once we received a notice. You then have a certain time frame to respond, or remove it, or prove you are not in violation.

The next step, varies by host. Some will remove it if you have refused or ignored. Others, will simply shut you down completely ending the drama and grief and ask you to move to another host.

It really depends on the host, and their T.O.S. on dealing with those issues. As you've seen on many WM forums. Many hosts will kill your account as soon as any B.S. comes up, some do not give a flying .... While most others fit in the middle of the extremes allowing for due diligence.

I had been attempting to receive a refund from Volsh after I overpaid them for $50 on my last invoice and I just assumed they were billing my PayPal but I had a PayPal autopay setup for the original amount. When I decided to cancel with them I submitted a trouble ticket (Once again their online support was down...even though they promised 24x7 support!!!) requesting for a refund and politely saying I will not be continuing services with them.

At no point did I go 'ITS BECAUSE YOU FUCKING SUCK'.

I login and see the ticket closed a day later with no responses to me....OK then.

I open a dispute with PayPal. Volsh rejects the dispute because they for some reason thought I was asking for a full refund on services...which I could have but being the nice guy I am I cut my losses and say whatever I still got service for this month, even if its not what I was promised, so I just want my overpayment returned. This was their actual response:


  • 6/14/2010 12:49 PDT - Buyer: Hi Volsh team, I am not requesting full amount (ie: $149.99) just the $50 I overpaid. Please process through paypal. I attempted to contact you directly via your ticket submission but you failed to reach back to me and closed the ticket, hence me filing this paypal resolution.
  • 6/14/2010 11:00 PDT - Seller: This dispute is asking for the full amount. We will not grant you that. We are willing to discuss the $50 you are owed. Please close this dispute, and contact us and we will get it to you promptly.Thanks.
This tune has obviously changed because once again no online chat option was available on their website. No one answered the phone. I emailed James London the president and got no response. Here was his response to my email on Twitter lol.

VERY PROFESSIONAL JAMES LONDON. I'm the idiot? First its not slander if its True! 2nd, the word you are looking for is defamation, I'm not a fucking public speaker here. 3rd, I'm an idiot? There are multi page threads on a website that you publicly advertised on where people are all calling you and your services an absolute disaster. Oh an by the way I'm not going out of business and you are....

This is class A example on how to not run a business. I hope this guy's name gets does get dragged through the mud so in future dealings people can hear how he let a ton of us down and then wouldn't even refund a very legal request for return payment.

I am assuming his 'slander' was posts I made on WF agreeing with others of the low quality of service. James, run your company instead of reading posts on Wicked Fire, which by the way did a good job at representing how bad your service ended up for several of us.

I will be doing a fully featured blog post where I will share my invoices/paypal screens/twitter screens/etc so anyone googling this guy can see his level of quality.

Next step, calling my credit card company to get a refund, PayPal told me this guy already closed up his account and disassociated his accounts so there is nothing I can do unless my CC demands the money back from PayPal.

What a hassle.
 
no you won't be getting your $50 back, you publically (sic) slandered us...
Translation: I'm an unprofessional little eKid, and while I probably do owe you your overpayment back, I'm willing to make it worse by taking my bat and balls and going home. Stop being to mean to me...oh why is the world so cruel?
