When doing a media buy and using an adserver e.g. adshuffle. Do you cloak the traffic? If so how do you do it (DMR, P202)? I would have thought doing anything between the adserver and the offer would eat up a lot of bandwidth and may cause the server to overload.

If not doesn't it expose your traffic sources to the network?

You need a decent dedicated box to host you stuff on. I host my tracking on this beast

EG SSD - OVH

Intel Xeon W3520 (Quad Core)
12GB RAM
2 X 80GB SSD hard drives

Install NGINX on it and watch it easily handle 2 million hits per day.

cloaking media buys? that's a good one...

you are definitely heading to a proper long-term relationship with your ad network that way... *sigh*

I'm pretty sure he's talking about hiding the referrer before it goes to the affiliate network.

Go back to sleep mother fucker. Notice he mentioned hiding his traffic from the network which is kinda a big giveaway what kind of cloaking hes talking about.

I am nervous about any drop off of traffic if I throw too much at P202 or DMR. I have a good dedicated server, but still would like to know what others do to mask the traffic source from the network

But does DMR work properly on all browsers? I heard it didn't work 100%. Is P202 cloaking not better?

The p202 cloaking uses a DMR and then a javascript redirect which in 99.9% of situations will clear the referer which makes it way more useful than a DMR on its own.

CAN WE PLEASE START CALLING THIS SHIT MASKING AND NOT CLOAKING? THEY ARE TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT FUCKING THINGS.

THANK YOU
