College football and the piss poor BCS!

Alright I'd like to here some of your thoughts on this stupid crap we call the BCS. How can there be any respect for this system, for the past few years it has been proven to be total crap! This year is one of the worst years for it, you have Texas, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma in the big 12, three of the top teams in the Nation and one of them might not even get a bcs bid becasue they are in the same confrence! There is also speculation that if Oklahoma wins this week USC might jump them all and play in the BCS championship... oh really? Who ever made up this process should be shot in the head! I'm sick of hearing about it. We need a playoff! Come on lets make it happen! Everybody knows it all starts on WF so here it is! 8 Game playoff! If you think you can legitimately defend the BCS go for it I would love to hear it.. but I can already tell you if you try your a dumbass!

PS. GO TEXAS TECH REDRAIDERS!

I feel your pain. It's all about the money. Less money for the bowls if they go to a playoff system, something like that...

Playoffs are the only way to determine the REAL champion. I also agree the Big 12 is the strongest conference this year and the top 3 teams could all get screwed by the BCS.

Good luck Texas Tech vs OU tomorrow. Graham Harrell and Crabtree are incredible.

The BCS just finds so many ways to screw teams over. It doesn't work if there are more than two undefeated teams in major conferences, it doesn't work if a given conference has three good teams that each lose once to one other, it doesn't let legitimate non-major conference teams in if there's a reasonable one-loss team with a big name.

Oh well. I'm rooting for Tech to win so that we can see the Tech/Bama matchup. It's the only one that legitimately interests me.

Being #1 in the BCS is more than just about winning games. You gotta have good SEO as well. If you spend your time getting backlinks, but they are all no-follow, you will probably end up #3.

65-21..............doh..................too bad Texas has one up on us

Wow another forum member from Oklahoma. Anyways we fucking rocked Tech tonight and I love how crazy it is here down in Norman. Go OU :banana_sml:

I saw this game... tech shoulda brought some lube. No way OU going to lose at home. And yea, I'm tired of hearing about usc. Look at penn state LMFAO. if UT gets screwed I'm gonna cry.

The major flaw with the BCS is that having a good schedule is AS important as having a good team, as well as having a good amount of LUCK on your side. Essentially, although College has better rules for a "overtime" in a game, the Pro's have substantially better rules for a "overtime in a season (A.K.A the playoffs).

Is this partially because the Pro's have less teams? Of course, but I am sure that College can integrate some sort of playoff system into their routine.

Wow well that game blew! Oh well we still got Texas ranked #2 over Oklahoma! I heard on espn today that on the coach's poll and the other poll they had Oklahoma over Texas! How does that happen, I mean yeah they played a hell of a great game but Texas beat Oklahoma by 10 it wasn't like they won in the last few seconds they legitimately beat them. There should be no question. This whole BCS thing is just turning me off of college football. I will never quit watching but it's so frustrating when you have a team your rooting for and there is a good chance they get screwed!

Oklahoma_Sooners_ou2_small.jpg

Another Sooners fan here. In both human polls the Sooners are ranked above Texas. The computers had Texas so much higher in points over Oklahoma that it kept Texas in front this week. The Sooners closed that gap with the huge win and another win in Stillwater should give us the 2nd spot.

BOOMER SOONER!!

PS. The BCS sucks ass

Guess your forgetting about Florida they win out they deserve to so go national championship

No one is forgetting Florida. I think they'll beat Alabama and get that #1 spot to be honest.

I'm thinking #2OU-#1Florida for the national championship.

Pretty sure this will happen. If both OU and UT win out, OU will be ahead of UT when it's all said and done. No way alabama is going to beat florida.

Florida is going to destroy alabama...

Sadly I agree, but it's some BS that OU jumps UT because they have the ranked opponents later in the season. UT beat OU therefore UT should take the tie breaker. Who gives a damn about how great they are playing now, they Lost to UT. Anyways I got another question how to do you see the big 12 playing out? UT, OU and Tech are tied who goes to the championship? Keeping in mind UT beat OU by a decent score. Tech beat Texas in the last minute. And well we all know the Raping Tech took from OU lol. This maybe a Biased opinion but UT should go to the Big 12 championship, and if they win then to the National championship! Against Florida ofcourse. Florida is in. No way Bama beats Florida.

Being an Alabama fan I know I'm partial, but I don't see Florida as being a 100% lock in the SEC Championship. They're running up scores on a lot of inferior defenses compared to Bama's, and they both played close in the respective Ole Miss games. Clearly Florida's offense is top notch and it gives them the edge, but it isn't a foregone conclusion IMO.

Of course, Alabama can well lose to Auburn given how the Tigers actually show up against solid opponents. And if they lose there they'll just fall apart in Atlanta.

Using this logic then Tech would have it over both since they beat Texas who in turn beat OU. Just thought I'd throw that out there for all the "hey, but Texas beat OU" people. Still the system is flawed and there should be some sort of play-off system involved

Well when you're right you're right! But I was saying this as everyone incluiding the BCS has Tech out of the running. So it's really comes down to Texas and OU and again Texas takes the cake! But who know ever really knows what is gonna happen in college football! OU might go and get beat by their in state rivals OSU! We can only hope lol!:jester:

Always possible. Bedlam is always pretty tight game. But if OU smashes OSU then I think they get the go ahead for Big 12 South.

OU is at OSU, which is a bummer.

The tech game was insane though, I could hear the cheering from outside... I live about 2 miles from the stadium.
