I think you mean Zimbabwe. White farmers fled Zimbabwe when Mugabe started seizing their land and having them killed, and so some settled in Kenya which has seen surge in farming productivity of late. The white farmers were good at their craft and produced a lot of food in Zimbabwe, feeding everyone and exporting to other countries, but their farms were seized and given to blacks who knew little about farming. The farms then only produced a fraction of what they used to and this set up a huge famine. Now Zimbabwe is reliant on importing food to keep everyone from starving.

I've said many times, that it would be in the great interests of the Africans to legally outsource their government to western people. Law, infrastructure, education, let westerners run it for a fee.

Of course, that assumes there are centralized powers who care about anything else than their own short term wealth. Which is very rare to find in Africa, which is a winner takes all, tribal continent.

Chinese companies already own a good portion of Africa's natural resources, so I'm assuming Africans will be left in their squalor.

Whenever I read anything about any country, it turns out Chinese companies own something there. Coal and iron mines in Africa, oil and gas deposits all over the world, wolfram, molibden, nikel, titanium factories all over the world - and they receive resources from there for decades. Sometimes, Chinese mines are the only source of income for locals and the ony thing that keeps the country's economy afloat.
At least for those poor Africans - giving it over to Chinese may be the best choice they really have.
But they are too proud to acknowledge they can't do shit right - so they prefer having their people dying from starvation.
