"Company Name Facebook" SEO results on Google

I am just noticing this. (the Wall, Photos, etc. sub links under the result)

Is this relatively new? Doesnt seem to be working 100% yet but most major companies have them.

I created a fan page for a concert, it actually did well and spread fast. I did a search on google for the concertns name to see where I ranked... suprised I was ranked #1. Out of 3,100,00 results. A Pretty broad keyword too. FB is becoming a huge power player in SEO I think. The fact that lots of people are sharing my page, commenting on it, posting it in other forums... huge +

FB & Twitter definitely play a huge part of SEO these days. Enough to matter if you are gunna be in the top 1-3 spots or 4-10.

Not that I am aware of, they are definitely cracking down on abuse - especially on anything getting decent traction though so don't expect to be able to go nuts with thousands of pages.

You're not giving them the credit they deserve. The rankings here on Google.co.uk for their main terms are pretty decent. I know some of these pages will be backlinked, but it is still pretty impressive considering some are singular keywords with high volume searches. Wonder how this would work with any longer tail keywords?!

"Yahoo" = Facebook 52nd, Twitter not in top 100.
"McDonalds" = Facebook 25th, Twitter 15th.

Every company has a Facebook. Watch TV and in the commercials they don't even say their real sites anymore, they say "visit us at facebook.com/company."
