Every year computers become more advanced, while we become less intelligent. This is the inevitable intersection of the two.

If a computer is mistaken for a human more than 30% of the time during a series of five minute keyboard conversations it passes the test. No computer has ever achieved this, until now. Eugene managed to convince 33% of the human judges (30 judges took part - see more details below) that it was human.

Seems like a bit of a stretch.

It "beat" the Turing test here by "gaming" the rules -- by telling people the computer was a 13-year-old boy from Ukraine in order to mentally explain away odd responses.
equivalent to the mentally odd responses of 18 year old North American girls - new yahoo chatbot heights still acquired.

This experiment is deeply flawed in the first instance, and who cares about 13 year old intelligence in the first place. I'd say that my Macbook has the intelligence of a 16 year old, which is why I keep her.
