There are zero social norms in America. Men and women don't have roles. Young people have almost no conception of the future.

I've never been to India, but half of my family is Indian, and I have a lot of friends (families) from the subcontinent, and even metropolitan Indian values are going to be 100x the values you'll find on mainstreet USA.

Amit will raise his daughter right if you know anything about him. He'll put her in a position to have a successful life as a woman, mother and wife.

You've got a point there, India's new generation is trying to adapt Western culture of having no such values, but transformation might take few more generations. But I was unaware of the fact about Western values being too diminished in reality, thanks for pointing it out. In India a man is supposed to look after 3 generations - His Parents, His wife, His Children - Many westerners find it gross.

I don't have any doubt that Amit will raise his daughter right, I do know him and he is a good and wise person by both word and action.
