Hey Guys,

So I've started getting traffic on my Content Network bids. But I'm getting about 50 impressions a day ... On terms like "Chapter 13" and "Loan Modification."

I have a hard time believing bankruptcy and loan mod gets that little traffic.

Currently bidding $0.47 cents, avg position is 3-4.

Any idea why I'm getting so little impressions or how I could improve it?

Here are the keywords I'm using. Basically pulled right out of Google Keyword Tool. According to Amit (superaffiliatemindset) the best way to go is 30 - 200 loosely grouped keywords per ad group, which is how I structured mine.

I get 15,000+ clicks/day on content:

Do this:

1) Create 50-500 more ad groups with grouped terms

2) Use 20-50 keywords per adgroup.

3) bid $1.50-$2.50 (the reason you aren't getting impressions is because your bid is most likely too low for these competitive keywords)

$1.50 to $2.50 on content network? Jesus christ. I doubt I could even get $1.50 to be profitable on Search, let alone content.

The payout for the offer I'm promoting is $12.50 for a 6 line form submit. At $1.50, I'd have to get a 12+% conversion to break even ...

Yep, you're going to need to bid higher for those kinds of competitive keywords - even on the Content N/W. Your ad may be showing in the top-4 Adsense positions, but you're not getting enough impressions at such a low bid price. Also work on getting your CTR up as high as possible during the first few days as Google may reward you with more impressions and possibly a lower average CPC.

Smart Pricing on the Content N/W is also a bit more extreme than on the Google Search N/W. You can eventually start nudging your bids down in small increments once you see where things settle out at. Just don't drop them too quickly and by too much or you risk killing your impressions.

Doesn't mean you'll pay $1.50/click. Just up your bid and watch what happens (real time tracking would help here). You can always reduce it if it gets out of hand.

looking for some loan mod offers. who has some (@ $20+)? i know clickbank has some, but not interested in them.

Another thing to do if you jack up your bid to start getting impressions (if you have your adgroups tightly themed as mentioned above), start immediately deleting or pausing the groups with a decent amount of impressions and little to no clicks after a day or so. Keep doing this, continue to optimize your adgroups and your QS should go way up and click costs come down (since it's based purely on CTR).

Diego: Right, got it. Good idea.

Jenzkc: There are a bunch of offers that pay out $20 plus. The only issue is a lot of them are just too much effort to fill out. They're 15 lines and require an address or a social security #. That'll kill your conversion rate IMO. I'd rather pick the $12.50 6 liner than a $20 15 liner.

If its loan modification(refi) you should be able to get a much much higher CPA. $12 is too low.

Like others said you bids are too low. I would try $1.50 if not $2 possibly more depending on what sites it hits. CTR, ect..

You are competing with places who most likely having closing power or live brokering so they can be making $50-$1000+ off each lead instaid your 12 bucks.

So the consensus is I pretty much need to be paying $1.00 + per click on content network and that the $12.50 offer probably isn't paying out enough .. ?

Pretty much. I'm currently competing with you for similar keywords for a similar offer on the CN. I started out bidding around $1.26 and I'm now down to around .89. I started on the Search N/W and min bids were over $3.00 for "foreclosure" keywords. CN campaigns take more patience, but if you can handle the initial losses, they can be tweaked into nice little campaigns.

Good luck.

having similar problems except that i start out bidding 2.00 on some mid competitive keywords, there nothing huge that 2.00 wouldnt cover, yesterday i started the adgroups and i got a lot of impressions and then couple hours later it stopped completely.

That sounds like a CN Slap. Are you direct-linking to the offer? It is also possible that G doesn't like the offer. Check for any disapproved ads - I don't always receive the emails from them.

I'm having an issue of no impressions as well. I started a content network campaign two days ago, and that campaign has received impressions.

Last night I started a new campaign, and campaign2 bid on some of the same keywords that were in campaign1, but not many.

I have a decent daily spend budget and I'm bidding above 2.00 on each of my keywords, which I have around 350 spread throughout 13 ad groups. Also, all of the keywords have decent volume.

But so far, no impressions whatsoever on campaign2. The settings look the same between the two campaigns and they are both active, except campaign2 is not getting any impressions.

I am running text ads in both campaigns - does google need to approve those ads before they get impressions? Would the context of my ads mean they wouldn't run? I have two ads running in both campaigns, should I write more?

Sent google a message and immediately my campaign started getting impressions - go figure....

quick help please - how long should campaigns run with high bids on the content network before they can be lowered?

Hey Guys,

Thanks for all your help. I added a bunch of ad groups and raised my bids as per your advice and within 6 hours received 40,000 impressions. Thanks =)

My CTR was pretty shitty (0.03) so it's time for me to start weeding out sites and building my negative keyword list. I also paused all my text ads and decided to go with image ads only. Waiting for those to get approved now.

Question on Image Ads:

1) Does the "needs to stop being animated after 30 seconds" apply to animated GIFs, or only flash? Can you even stop an animated GIF?

2) Can I use "Click Here" in an animated GIF?

3) How long does it take to get approved?

Cheers,

- Derek
