Content Network - Well Done Example

Look at this content network ad. I was looking to download something and I fell for it - and I don't think I've ever been 'tricked' into clicking on any advertising. I bet their CTR is amazing.

Im wondering if this is allowed. Are you supposed to put a border around the ads or make the ads table with a different color from the rest of the background?

I'm more impressed from the advertiser perspective. If you look at the page, its a normal adsense block, although it is well blended. The advertiser was very creative in thinking about how and where the ad would be displayed to craft the perfect graphic.

The great part is, the advertiser is effectively stealing users away from the publisher's similar software. The publisher is providing software for free, so they would rather we click the ads, but let this be a warning to affiliates who also serve adsense... someone smart can take your pre-sold visitors and convert them.

Hint I shouldn't give out: Taking the template from a news site(or quasi news site) that runs adsense, and formatting the banner to look like a "breaking news" story that follows the template. Not a great conversion ration, but CTR is sky high.
