personally i think single word domains are way overpriced. honestly, how often in a day-to-day basis do you use single word domains? i mean really, were not living in the 'ideal domain world' domainers think we are. we dont check our email at email.com. we dont get our stock quotes from stockquotes.com. we dont read news at news.com. the majority of major sites we use are along the lines of gmail.com, marketwatch.com, cnn/msnbc/foxnews.com.

often times those one word sites are shitty because they spent all their money on the domain instead of making a good business.

anyways, i think the real value depends on the quality of service the domain offers. domains are a circle jerk, really. it banks off the 'estimated value' within a group of investors.

but, then again, certain domains might be popular within niche circles.

overpriced.

Tell That to silly wallstreet bankers. :)

They are just diving blind. Sure they have alot of domains, alot but i always think"even though i am a newbie to the whole industry" that a developed domain with banklinks and a higher search engine ranking is worth more than some funny generic name. But thats just me, what do i know right. :yin-yang:

its worth what the market is willing to pay, that simple.
if they call 300m$,and get it,well guess what...it is worth to them that amount.
overpriced? hell ya,but what isnt? look what the pro sport stars cash in every year...

All good points guy, but you gotta remember "we" are the minority. 99.5% of internet users are cattle.
