i think i blew it

i put up an ad and saw hardly anything as far as clicks and impressions all day, so finally i took down the ad and my web page too because i wanted to work on it...

i log in this morning and see i had 80 clicks and 50,000 impressions.... sheesh

what i'm thinking is there is a long delay to see your impressions and clicks? 8 hours or more?

also maybe a delay when u delete or pause ad?

shoot its possible all 80 people who clicked on ad found no website there because i took it down to work on it...

anybody know how long it takes for ad to disappear after u pause or delete it? and how long normally for clicks and impressions to show up?

oh one more thing confusing me, i tried site-targeted ad and got charged per impression...ended up costing me .50 a click... is it possible to do site-targeted and only pay for clicks, not impressions?

new question... is there a way to limit cost per click in site targeted?
only option i can see is set your CPM...they charged me over $1.00 a click when i tried it last night... and i had a limit of 1 cent an impression!

also, content network and site-targeted ads go to same placed right? web sites blogs etc? so u pick one or other for how u want to control costs and where ads goes etc?

Hi,

When u pause or delete a campaign the campaign stops showing immediately.

The only lag-time is in the reporting of the statistics back to you.

So you have to wait a few hours before seeing any statistics.

But if you launch a campaign let's say now, your ads will show NOW.

You should try Google customer service, their help section is also really good. Yes you can limit your cost per click in site targeted.

Content network is the adsense ads that appear on websites, blogs etc.

Site-targeted is the same except you are targeting your ads to show on a *specific* website... so if you're selling for example flowers, and want to target a specific website that is all about romance, well you can do that... and it's probably a good idea.

yes, content network and site targeted networks are the same. The best use for Site Network IMHO is to take your content network reports, see which sites are converting best for, and then create site targeted campaigns for instead of it being served up in the content network.

A two stage process, but very important for optimization.

In terms of being charged a $1 for a click under the Site Target, are you sure you just did not pay $1 for 100 impresions (based on the price point you said of 0.01 per impression which would have been equivalent to a $10 CPM) and only got 1 click?
