anyone else here write cracks? If so what kind of tools do you use? Lately I've been using IDA Pro and Hiew. If it's a dotnet app I'm working on I'll use Reflector as well. I also use various unpackers etc. Does it piss anyone else off that Olly doesn't work on a x64 cpu?
 


I spent 6 years doing RCE before I realized there is more money doing this stuff. But now I'm cashing out and getting back into RCE. Way more interesting than slinging payday loans :)

OllyDBG for all my Windows stuff, works fine on 64 bit with Stealth64 plugin. For Android I simply use a dex decompiler, most times you can convert the dex files to java class files and use a java decompiler. Any native ARM stuff or MAC stuff I used IDA for. Otherwise I'm not an IDA fan.

And yeah, reflector kicks ass for .NET. Illy helps too if you're working with a bad unpack. And fuck using unpackers, MUP for the win :)

Writing exploits and cracking copy protecting / licensing is what got me into programing years and years ago. I used SoftICE forever then moved to Olly. I used olly for years until I got a 64 bit CPU. Now that I know about Stealth 64 I'm going back to olly it's by far my favorite!

I've never really been part of a the cracking scene. I was more into the 0day scene and still have friends that are big into. Most have moved over to "industy" now though.
