I have a small service business on the side that provides cleaning services (it works well with my lead gen business). We accept credit cards using Square 2.75% (in-person) and anedote.com 3.9%+.30 on our site.

What do you guys use for easy cc processing?

Stripe.com > everything else.

Holy shit, this looks sick. Off hand do you know if the customer needs to leave your store to pay or can this be all done from the same page on your site? We're processing through First Data and it's way more expensive. Setups fees, monthly rates & the fees per transaction are way more.

Have a look at www.gocardless.com - It's a direct debit processing service that charges only 1% payment fees... There's also a system called http://www.directli.co.uk/ which allows you to integrate with that pretty reasonably.

I work with the guy's at Directli quite a lot so if you use the code 'LS512AX20', you'll get it for £29.99 a year instead.

Cheap processing :)

Eww, that won't work at all. The only reason we are offering the CC payments is to decrease AR time. Otherwise, checks are the better route to save on the percentages.

The main reason I chose anedot is because it took like 2 mins to setup and iframe into my site. No fee's other than processing which is 3.9+.30

@Lewis,
how can they offer 1% fee if the major credit cards take more than 1% themselves? Amex takes higher fees than that

It's actually Direct Debit processing so you can do variable fee charging. Doesn't go straight through the card so the fees are lower. It's a pretty good system, I use it for SEO / Hosting and many other clients!

Have a look on the GoCardless site if you want to find out more about how it works. Theres a £2.00 maximum fee as well which is good!

The best merchant account that I have found so far is Paypros PayPros Solutions for Business

Visa, M/C and Discover for qualified cards is 1.9% and non-qualified cards is 2.8%. The transaction charge is $0.15 per attempt. Our average cost is 2.25% between the qualified and non-qualified cards (Paypros monthly cost / Credit card monthly gross) .

If we manually batch out we get the funds the next day, if we do not batch out then it is 2-days before we receive the funds.

These rates took some negotiating and our average ticket price is over $600.

It's all done on your site. Just look at the API documentation. There's plenty of examples.

I'm cool with an extra 3 days (compared to PayPal, 2checkout, others...) in exchange for total control and not having to mess with a real merchant account or having to worry about your account being frozen for no reason. And after your first week, your bank account is receiving payments daily... didn't bother me at all.

Stripe is awesome if you're based in the USA (not available in the UK yet)... It's extremely easy to integrate with and all you do is store a Stripe Token on your server so it's completely safe as far as all the 'storing card details' rules etc go. I know a few people in the USA who integrated it on their sites and they honestly can't recommend it enough.
