The reason to have residence there is the banking and tax policy.

I realize that but I'm not sure their tax policy will be favorable in the near future. Just a couple years ago, they were considering removing territorial taxation. I don't think it has been implemented yet but these sentiments don't bode well.

Why don't you guys go to Ireland? Income tax is 20% basic rate, 41% higher rate - but they have a system of domicile - you are only liable to Irish income tax if you spend 183 days a year there, and their corporation tax is the lowest in the world - ranges from 10% to 25% (standard rate is 12.5%).

Also, because of the property crash, you can buy some very nice new builds at bargain basement prices. They tend to be extremely welcoming towards outsiders as long as they obey the Irish cultural role of going to the pub a lot.

They are also a neutral country - they don't believe in going to war ever. So it's nice and safe.

Haha. Freedom in the US is a big lie. The US gov't taxes you no matter where in the world you live. As long as you hold US citizenship, the IRS can lay claim on your income world, even if you no longer live in the US. Americans are literally TAX SLAVES.
