Cruises Any Good?

I loved my first one.. Royal Car, but the ship was a bit older.. The best part isn't really the cruise though, it's visiting all the destinations and going off into the islands/places. I don't think I'll ever go on another, I've come to love Vegas.. So all future trips will be there, until I get burnt out.

You live in California it says.. Vegas isn't a vacation for people in CA, it's where you go on the weekend, or 5 times a year for conferences :tongue2: lol

Man, I didn't expect so much cruise love on WF. I've never understood the appeal in cruises and everybody harping on about them here has just reinforced the point that they sound like shit.
It depends on the kind of experience you're after. In March I was in Istanbul, Turkey for 6 nights and it was great. But if I really had the bucks I'd take a cruise around the eastern Mediterranean and see the Greek isles, the southern coast of Turkey, Bulgaria, etc. Somebody here took a cruise to Alaska and loved it. You are able to visit remote attractions and see islands most tourists can't get to. Same thing cruising around Hawaii.

I happen to know a comedian who regularly worked onboard cruise ships as an entertainer. He traveled all over doing his gigs, but he had the best time on cruise ships.

I've been on 14-15 cruises all in the Caribbean from 7 days to 14+ days. Out of the top 3 which include Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Norwegian I like Royal.

Carnival = young party crowd, lots of kids, food not very good, service not very good, crowded.
Norwegian = old crowd 50+ mostly, no kids, great food, great service.
Royal = mixed crowd mostly mid age couples, good food, good service.

I'm in my 30's and prefer Royal because it's a good blend of everything we want. There are good bars with good crowds, food is never bad/sometimes great and lot's to do on the newer ships.

If you don't like a laid back slower pace vacation - for the most part you won't like a cruise.

Princess to Alaska was incredible.. Plus we had an employee discount for 50% off our drink bill. Courvoisier XO was flowin like a mothafucka. There WAS a fire in the laundry room which was pretty fucking scary though.. Alarms sounding, captain telling everyone to get their lifevests on, etc. Other than that, awesome trip.

I bet Courvoisier XO was flowin out of your pee pee hole like a mothafucka when you heard the captain say that.
