That's the idea; you want more money for less work. Working for below what you know you're worth is soul-destroying. Cheapskates tend to need the most babysitting, too.

A curious thing: If you say to someone 'I don't think you can afford me', they become even more eager to hire you.

If you're being Machiavellian; get in quick and use the cheap workers before they get cheesed off, 'fall ill' or have a 'domestic crisis', and you can never contact them again.
