Custom Wordpress Themes: Best Designers

I'm in the market for a kick-ass, custom WordPress theme. I'm looking to procure the services of an awesome designer/skinner who specializes in wordpress to either:
  • Design a custom theme from scratch
  • Customize an already awesome premium theme that I'll purchase for them to work on
  • Pimp out the skeletal system of the existing WP Theme I've got up
So tell me... WHO ARE THE BEST CUSTOM WP THEME DESIGNERS ON THE PLANET???
 


Unique Blog Designs look good but put you in the same company as Shoemonkey and John CHow.

Have you thought about the guy who created the Thesis theme? I think his name is Chris Pearson
 
Hi, I'm new here, but I am a web designer, and recently have moved into creating custom wordpress themes based on the Thematic framework. I'm definitely not the best wordpress themer in the world, maybe I can help. I am currently working on a wordpress theme at the moment that you can check out here... Manic Organic Media, it is not yet complete, but you can get a feel for my style. If you haven't found anybody yet and would be interested in giving me a chance, let me know.
 
unique blog designs wants like $1500-$1700 for a theme. I thought that was WAY over priced. I'm in the market to have one of my sports team sites redone as well.

not really. i recently had an offer from a co. to customize drupal themes and add functionality to 6 of their sites for ~$40/hr on a 3 month contract which works out to about $20,000 or $3,333/site.
