Ok, my quick review so far.

I just created a project and it only took me a minute to do. Super easy to use. I will update with results in the next day or two.

Thanks for that, when I first let people see this app a few found it a bit tricky to work with, which is why I added the "one minute setup" video and additional "add basic project" buttons, which makes creating basic projects a little clearer.

The more complex stuff is there "if you want to use it".

If you get chance to look at some of the more advanced features I would love to hear your thoughts :D

A few questions:

1. How many unique forums in the service?
2. Have all the forums been checked that they have publicly viewable and crawlable profiles?
3. Any idea of what percentage of the forum profiles are dofollow?
4. Could you explain what the backblaster does?

1) currently 20k or so with some more being added later today, though I am not sure what the rate of duplication will be between my current list and the one I am going to merge with it (which is 25k).

2) All verified with scrapebox with user agent set to that of a popular search engine

3) Not sure, the vast majority are do follow, but I really cannot quantify it

4) It creates backlinks in forum profiles, but gives a lot more control and flexibility than other services. Keyword targeting is very different from other services having originally been designed for mass secondary linking or backlink boosting.

How I use it is like this:

  • Set up blog with plugin
  • Add plugin into BB project
  • Set to "import trackbacks daily"
  • Set up keyword filters (which can map as yet UNKNOWN urls)
  • Deep link by blog using blog networks, article marketing robot / demon etc
What happens then is:

  • Blog networks / AMA runs send trackbacks to my posts
  • BackBlasts imports these URLs via the Wordpress plugin each day and adds them to its list
  • BackBlasts maps the keywords onto these urls according to the filters I defined
  • BackBlasts sends links out to the blog networks / AMA runs to help with indexing etc
That is one way to use the service.

Another is to drip links into micro sites slowly, or promote other sites directly.

Where the service differs in this regard is the level of granularity.

With BackBlasts you control how many links you sent to each project on each day of the week. The constraints are that you must send between 100 and 2000 per project (assuming you have 2k account)

So, if you have a 500 per day account, you can do up to 5 x 100 links per project per day, and if you want to a different set of 5 projects each day, making 35 different projects per week.

Each project gets its own report each time it is run.

This gives a more even spread, a "true drip" effect. Other services force you to send all your daily quota in a single "blast", so you either have to roll all your projects together into one big spin mangler (which is hard to edit afterwards), or send site specific blasts very infrequently. For example, say you have a 2k account and want to send 100 links per day to a given site in isolation from your other projects... in other systems you would have to send 2k every 20 days, this one lets you send 100 per day evenly.

If you are using LinkLicious integration (which we just added) a 2k blast every 20 days is perhaps not the best approach.

What this system does lack, due to this approach is long term calendar scheduling, which makes "velocity" hard to set going out into the future. This system uses a "rolling week". If you want velocity then you would have to log in once a week to tweak your schedule.

Its a different approach, one that suits the way I work (it was originally a private tool that grew). If you work the same way as me you will like it, but, there are many different approaches to this stuff, its by no means a "one size fits all" kind of scenario.

^ For your answer to question 4, so the "backblasts indexer tool" is simply a tool that build profiles links to your profiles links?

No, that tool logs into the profiles which creates a link from the "logged in users" list on the front page of many sites. These links point to the profile to help with indexing. There are some more features we are looking at to make it more effective, but it will take a while to fully develop that app. It works to a point, and is one of a number of things we are doing to help with indexing. So, regards indexing BackBlasts has:

  • Its own indexing tool (as mentioned above)
  • LinkLicious integration (if you have an account with them)
  • Customisable BIO fields (to make profiles more unique)
  • Wrap text around signatures (to make profiles more unique - due in the next day or so)
However, when all is said and done, profiles are bottom of the heap in terms of link building and indexing will always be an issue.

These links have their place in the eco system and are useful if incorporated into a wider link building strategy.

Interested in this Advanced Keyword Mapping. You should throw up some screenshots from your panel too.

When are the review copies up? Not gonna have time to really dig into backlinking for a week or so though...

I dont have a time limit as such, but I will get more choosy as to who I give them to... but with your post count Im sure Ill squeeze you in, drop me a PM when you want to try it.

Just a quick update on the features... the original post had some stuff pending which has now been done:

  • LinkLicious integration is complete
  • Added an "opt out of 3rd party api" option in projects allowing you to stop a project being sent to LinkLicious, so you can split test or stop links pointing at a new site from being crawled so fast.
  • Copy / Clone Project feature has been added
  • Wrap text (around signatures) feature has been added, so you can put spin text before and after sig links (keep it short)
  • Added "notes" feature to projects, pretty basic, but handy none the less
  • New version of desktop indexing tool is now available - faster, more stable, minimise to taskbar
Next up will be:

  • Upgrade to wordpress plugin to monitor and "spam" any trackbacks no longer linking to your site, this will run on wp-cron and make "auto secondary linking" more efficient / hands free
  • Set up black list of "bad" sites to reduce the risk of the indexing tool taking you somewhere you dont want to be

Ok Next update.

Just got my reports for 2 days and they are all neatly in txt. Checked all of them and 99% of them are live links. Will let you know if there is any ranking changes.

Quick review:
Interface looking cool and easy to accelerate.Just missed the scheduling feature on first day and only turn it on yesterday and got my first report today.

All links are well placed and some neat forums are there.

One suggestion will be a mail feature,That is, a mail will be sent whenever report available for the day will be a nice addition.
Still in testing report back later after complete test.

A Trademark and Patented Andrew Scherer Review

I'm a little ashamed to write this review because I didn't get enough of a chance to play around with this service especially since he hooked me up with a review copy on the highest account level (2,000 links). I've been really strapped for time this past week but I did get a chance to get in there and try the main feature which is the automated xrumer blasts.

Now there is the wordpress plugin and windows desktop app that you get access to but unfortunately I wasn't able to tinker with these, sorry guys.

Anywho, I will continue on to write about what I've directly experienced along with some statistics on the xrumer blasting itself.

The first thing I like is the ability to schedule out how many links you want exactly for each site and for what days of the week. This is useful for someone with a handful of sites that wants to distribute their links evenly and keep the link velocity around the same for every site that's hit.

I was able to take a blast of 9,764 sites and slot them into Scrapebox to do some analytical testing.

Here is what I found:

6,720 out of 9,764 total links found.

I then wanted to get an idea of how many of these links are on unique domains.

I then took the links found and trimmed the URLs to root domain. Then I removed all duplicate domains.

This left me with 3,581 unique domains which had my link.

I haven't experimented with any profile services for a long while so I don't have anything to compare this data to, it could be super awesome or it could need work either way I'm just leaving it here in hopes that it will help someone.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the feedback, no worries about not using it so much guess you were busy!
Ive been doing some work on lists / proxies to improve the number of unique domains, there are 25k in my list atm, should be doing a lot better than the figures you quote.

Thanks, I had been considering a mail notification, but am not sure how best to implement it with there being multiple projects, I guess you would want to know when all the reports were available?

Hello all,

Im looking to give out some more review copies of this service if anyone is interested?
I should add this is a fully operational service, not a beta (hassle) version!

We have some more useful features in development which should make the thing even better than it is ATM. Following comments above the lists are being worked on ATM.

So, anyone want a freebie? :p
