No sweat. Why don't like 5-7 of us get together on Ventrilo and start a bad ass collusion campaign? We'll most likely be in different parts of the country if not the world. It's the perfect crime. When all is said and done, $33k will be the celebratory bar tab.

To answer some questions... No, I wasn't playing to get rich, I was playing for fun.
And I made it from $1k to $33k because of luck and stupidity. I played quite a few $69+6 sit & gos in the beginning and placed in the top three 6 times in two days. I think I ended up with around $3,500 after that.
Then I decided the sit & gos were boring and I needed to play higher stakes. So I played some $25/$50 heads up games for a few days and really just got lucky. I think the minimum buy-in for those heads up games was like $2,500, so I could have lost it all quick.
So after a few sit & go wins I decided I was a badass and couldn't be beat. So I played some $50/$100 games and ended up with around $20k when all was said and done.
What killed me was sitting down at a $40/$80 NL ring game. I kept losing, but I stayed at the table and just kept losing. In about five hours I went from $20k, to $30k, to $0k.
So yeah, I was stupid and was playing tables I shouldn't have even watched. And that's how you do that.
On a side note, one good thing did come of it. I made a shit ton of those FTP points... I'm going to give my mom my login details and let her lose them all. She'll enjoy that.

I don't play online poker anymore and was a bit surprised to hear about bots. Wouldnt they be easy to spot? Usually normal humans will chat, etc. Or perhaps make a rule you dont play at a table where one person (a possible bot) isnt chatting?? Force everybody to say something at least once so you know it's a real person, perhaps?

See, that was my problem. I need to risk all of my money to have fun... which is stupid... but maybe that's why I play so much roulette when I go to Vegas. I wish I had the patience to sit there and grind it out, but it just gets too boring.
You know what... the more I look at that screenshot, the more I think that maybe a program like that is what I need to actually see where I screw up. I know Hold'em Manager is like $100, right? Would you say it's worth it?
Subigo, next time you're up 33k, take out at least 5k. With that, buy yourself a TV/chair/whatever you want, and put the rest into the bank. Now when you lose your remaining 28k, just go to the bank and start with your 1k again.

The number 1 rule I have is good money management: never put down more than 3% on a game and you should be fine past all the cold streaks (unless you completely suck, in which case you shouldn't be betting at all).

Sucks man. I truly feel for you. I am playing some online, but go awful low limits. As in $10 gets me far. I'd suggest dropping to that level and learning some self control. Have someone come over and sit next to you for both of you to learn. I've done that every now and then.
This is the reason why I don't play poker. I don't have the patience for tourney play and even just sit and go tables bore me after awhile and I play stupid rather than getting up and leaving.
About the only gambling I enjoy occasionally is craps. I play very vanilla. $5 Come bets, odds on the bets, sixes, eights and sometimes nines with odds. No hardways, occasionally a Yo bet if I'm up a lot. That's about it. I usually only walk in the casino with $200 and will only allow myself to lose $100 before leaving or when I start getting bored. I've found that my time limit is about 3 - 4 hours before I'm looking for the door. So far, I've only left once with less than I started ($75 lost). Overall I'm up on the house by $1000 and haven't been back in months.
Craps is awesome. Wish they had it here. I've made 1800 on that before in two hours. Start with a little on a $5 table. Get up, pull my money off, cover all of the numbers with 2 or 3 presses. Don't have someone 7 out for awhile. Pretty soon you are pulling off nothing but green chips every time the dice rol. WHen you get black chips your wife is taking them from you and hiding them in the hotel room. I've shot the dice myself before for 45 minutes and made people a ton of money. So much that I got a $100 tip from another player. Of course I've hit the downside too. Key like all gambling is to win and play with someone elses money asap, and get out when you start going down.

Holdem manager is definitely worth it and is the only software you'll ever need (apart from a few AHK scripts for multitabling). It's a lot better for cash games, you can see exactly what hands and what positions you lose money in and can adjust your game based on that, I'd say it is absolutely vital software if you're going to play in high limits. Although it can't tell you too much about SNG's the tracking is sick and having some kind of stats HUD is absolutely necessary, and the HUD for holdem manager is sick.
The table scanner is pretty sick too, once you've collected enough data on other players you can scan through tables and find where the fish are.
You may find SNG's boring, and they are pretty boring, but that's why you have to multitable. I've been playing between 4-12 tables at a time so far depending on how sharp I feel.
If you really want to improve your game I suggest you get on the twoplustwo forums and also tournamentindicatorforum.com, read the cash game sections and about bankroll management.
