Damn that poker thread.

Making money is fun.

And this is at a level where rake is considered the worst.

I just install pokertracker 3 last night and really like it. Here's my latest update... almost 100% of these hands are on $.01/.02 PL hold'em.

On a side note... FTP finally banned my second account (after I emailed them about it because I was paranoid).

Yea PT3 is great, you are using the HUD, of course, right?

And switch to .01/.02 NL (btw, good idea starting low).

And, if you want, send me your PT3 stats after a few thousand hands and i'll plug any leaks I can see. (VPIP, PFR, AF, C-bet Flop, Fold to c-bet Flop, 3-bet, etc).

nah... I've never liked HUDs. They just get in the way and distract me from the actual game. I do load it up every once in a while, just to get a quick idea of who's at the table.

edit: aaaah hell. I just realized the account they cancelled had over 30,000 full tilt points left in it... lame.

subigo.

You have gambling problems. STOP. Make your money some other way. Spend your money some other way. You are a stereotype problem gambler. Just stop.

email them again and ask for the 30K of FPP they should give you them back since you earned them

And they prolly can see what kind of degen you are lol they usualy like to keep your kind happy

I like how this thread started as a I'm addicted to gambling horror story and quickly devolved into a poker strategy discussion.

I have a feeling they'll say "No, your lucky we didn't ban BOTH of your accounts."

I'd try Holdem Manager tbh, it's not hugely important but I prefer it and every full-time player I know has switched to it for PT.

If you ever want to compete at higher levels you will NEED a HUD.

The difference between Holdem Manager and PT3 is negligible. They both pump out the same information you need..

Yeh it's just a preference thing really.. Google and Yahoo do pretty much the same thing but I'd prefer to use Google any day. I think the HUD is better though, mainly.

I think at this point it's pretty clear to me that I was never a bad player, but a bad gambler. It was only when I decided to go crazy and play with all of my bankroll at one table that I lost.

Since starting this micro limits experiment, I've easily made money. Since it was micro tables, there wasn't anything to gamble with in the first place. The hardest part so far was just sitting there being bored, not dumping another $1k in to gamble with. But once I started to enjoy the statistics side, things got easier. Now I can easily sit there for a few hours and not get bored.

Looks like you stacked someone pretty deep at the end there. Looks like your crushing 2nl, you should think about moving up to 5nl soon.

I'm not much of a gambler.

Strike that.

We're all gamblers by nature, I just realize that I'm terrified of that high/crash loss of control so I really don't gamble much.

Anyway on the few times that I have,it's blackjack. I put a starting amount in my left pocket and the winnings in my right. No matter what's in my right pocket by the end, when the money in my left is gone, I'm done.

^ This is how to both win, and have a great time at the blackjack tables. Combined with Basic Strategy and minimum betting on a decent odds table, you'll walk away with a smile more often than not.

GOD. DAMMIT.

I seriously can't do it. After playing for a few hours I got super bored and just had to play some high limits and a $100 heads up match. I quit for real this time. I just don't have the ability to grind away at poker.

seriously man. grow up and stop playing. you're out of control.

lol... The really funny part is I just lost a $250 bet to my brother who said I wouldn't last 10 days before I gambled it away on higher stakes. But yeah, I'm using up all of my FT points right now on some retarded tournament(s) and then I'm uninstalling it for good. I need to focus more on real work anyway (played 30 hours of poker this week already).

Bah don't sweat it. It took me 3 years to know WTF I was doing and win consistently.

I don't think I could ever do it... I just don't have the self control / right personality. It's like exercising, I tell myself I'm going to stick to a exercise program, do it for a few days, and then say screw it. I know I'm okay at poker, but I should never play it more than a few times a month.
