Hey guys im new to Wickedfire and Copeac, i am about to run a dating campaign on adwords using the kw list jon provided. Can anyone give me an idea on how much to bid for the keywords?

At first it's not a bad idea to bid high on exact and phrase matches to get your quality score up. Then you can safely drop your bids until you get some decent pricing on top spots.

Beyond that, no one is going to tell you how much to bid. It's all about testing yourself and figuring out what works. Jon already gave you a kw list, that in itself is a lot more than most people are given when they first start out.

I ran a dating campaign on Adwords last week and it got 29 million impressions the 2nd day... max bid was only .03

But I was using it for arbi and cant seem to make more than Im spending... clicks out the ass... but epc is crap...
optimized for about the best average cpc that keyword country was showing.

am I missing something? I was always under the impression that dating arbi was bunk... is there a better use for my campaign?

I would be happy with something that would even just pull in a cool $100 profit/day. Campaign was bring in just over 10,000 visits per day... and even with that I couldnt clear a profit...

Anyone?

You realize this makes no sense, right? You could have 1,000,000,000 clicks per day, but if you're not converting at a high enough rate to be profitable, the campaign isn't going to be profitable. Volume isn't the issue.

next time you should start a new thread instead of hijacking

oh yeah - to answer your question, there are plenty of affiliate networks that have dating offers that pay on a per lead basis. search around the forum for more info :bigear:

I wasnt trying to hijack... He asked about how much his bid should be I added what I was able to achieve with only a 3 cent bid... I added a relevant question to my post.

Wasnt trying to hijack at all... just assumed that he might be attempting an arbi campaign since he included the "noob" avatar...

Sry if this was seen as a hijack... just thought that an answer to my question might also contribute to the thread.

I also should have apologized in advance for anything posted that didnt make sense... Ive started my weekend early... ;)

Jon's list is good but be sure to scrub it and create separate ad groups for the kw's. Run it that way til you get enough impressions to tell which kw's and ads are working and adjust from there.

Clearing "a cool" $100 per day profit is NOT that easy when you don't know the difference b/w a visit and an impression.

Look... as I said, Ive started my weekend early... Im posting under the influence... I know the difference... My campaign had 29 million impressions on the content network, I pulled in 10,000 visits... I had about a 40% ctr once they were at my site... but the epc from the ads was not enough to make a profit... simple as that..

Now, in an attempt to get this thread back on track...

My advice to you, like others have stated... Dont just dump this keyword list into a single adwords adgroup...

Well, let me backup... create a single adwords adgroup, write your ad copy and DO dump all of the keywords into this single adgroup... (content only campaign)

THEN...

Download a copy of Adwords Editor from google...

Run the Keyword Grouper tool under Tools on this adgroup and allow Adwords Editor to split it up into as many new adgroups as it sees fit...

Tweak each new adgroup... tweak your adcopy to tailor to the keyword groupings of each new group as you see fit...

Set each new Adgroups CPC as you see fit... I would start at .03-.05 depending on what you assume you are going to make from whatever your site's purpose is...

Post the changes Adwords Editor has created...

You will find that there will be quite a few campaigns that may not see alot of impressions... however, in my experience, using the grouper tool inside Adwords Editor seems to result in a few campains getting massing impressions on the content network...

My assumption is becuase the tool groups keywords by the same philosophy upon which Adwords woks best....

good luck.

1 other thing... dont touch the adgroups for at least 48 hours... they have to go thru the appoval process which can take a few hours up to a couple days... so be patient and wait for the impressions to start before you make any judgement calls... I would guess that you will see 1 or 2 to the adgroups start getting insane impressions.
