Start a website containing episodes of a certain tv show...something like peekvid...but only containing one show. All videos would be hosted on youtube or somewhere else too...like on peekvid.

I only saw one other post about this and the kid was trying to sell his site. He said he was making about 1k a month though. Is this possible? If so, what ads would you suggest?( I got banned from adsense:()

Video site can be very successful just remember that there are so damn many of them. After running a couple video sites recently I've found out that traffic can fluctuate a lot.

As for monetization... Adsense has worked best for me. So maybe you should try Adbrite? Or if you can maintain high traffic go for CPM.

That is the awesome thing about scrape ing mirror sites. You can use their content and you're scott free. No legal issues.

Yup. And there are so many of the sites so if a certain episode or whatever gets taken down, you just go to one of the sites and see where someone uploaded a new copy of it at.

I was thinking either anime or some very popular american tv show such as lost. Which do you think would successful?

haha way way way ahead of you, well not really, but I've been dealing with the whole TV show industry for awhile and I fucking love it, its easy to automate, and most are easy to rank for decent traffic terms, my most recent automation project is with my Heroes site, forgive me if the pages are all fucked up or you cannot access them, I've been having some issues with the .htaccess fucking up but that site is currently under re-design.

Basically you can automate any video site, I created this particular script to be super easy to use and cross compatible, I'm not done yet because I'm still going to add comments, member pages, and a user rating system, but that can give you an idea of the whole automating a video site thing.

As for the making $1K per month yeah its definetly possible and there are a ton of different ads you can go and use other then adsense, try affiliate offers or adbrite.

I went ahead and purchased a .info domain that has to deal with a popular anime :) Hopefully I'll start working on it tonight. Thanks for all the tips...and more are always welcome :)

I have a couple tv sites...one that is just starting up really and another that is just dying down. Made some cash pretty easily in ways I wouldn't have expected. Go for it, and don't be afraid to link exchange with sites for the same TV show, as fans are willing to be loyal to more than just one location. That'll allow you to turn some of their traffic into your own, and if you make your site better, they will visit yours more frequently as well.

Sounds good man. Thanks.

As far as traffic goes...I was thinking about just posting a few times on a few anime boards and using adwords. Will this be sufficient? Are there any better ways that fit this type of site better?

For ads...I think I'm gonna use Adbrite and auctionads. Maybe azoogle? Any suggestions?

and I was thinking linking to this contest is enough for them to ban your YPN or adsense account?

where would you get the video clips from, the tv shows website? that's the only place you could get them from or there would be legal issues?

Nah. Somewhere like tvlinks.co.uk All the videos are hosted somewhere else.

I couldn't just copy the page source though because the links were all 404'd. I ended up just doing episode recaps :\
