Saltwater tank, right now got no corals but a clown, tang, algae blennie and some cromies along with some snails and crabs. So damn peaceful, I love saltwater i want to put in a 280 gallon take or custom one in my home but it would be alot of work.

I like fish, but at the same time... I really hate cleaning the tanks.

I'd rather toss up a fish scene on a flat screen TV on a wall or projector.

Kudos to you though, mate.

thats tight man .. i remember ur offic pic from a while ago with that fish tank up there ... i've been wanting one ever since

edit ... in response to rexibit .. doesnt that tank clean itself?

Dude, I dont know the name. But it looks like that yellow fish of yours is smiling.

I used to be huge into salt. Had a 10gal on my desk and 90. Got rid of them cause time = money. Was fun watching it though. I had a full on reef in my 90, dual 400watt metal halides, crabs, stars, snails, coral, fish, everything.

Coolest thing was my skunk cleaner shrimp would clean all the dead skin off my hands while I cleaned the tank. Nice little guy lol

I'm gonna get one but shrimp as you know are too sensitive so I'm gonna wait a little

Cool tank, but you will get flamed on any saltwater tank forum for having a tang in that small of a space. Just sayin. :food-smiley-010:

How come the ugly fish is 800 bucks?

Our site is actually cheaper than other places. I think just because they're somewhat rare i.e. they're deepwater fish. They have cool personalities too, if you watch the video you can get an idea.

Nice tank. I have an ecommerce site here in Hawaii that ships fish. Check it out if you're in the market for something new or rare. Buy Saltwater Fish | Saltwater Fish For Sale

Awesome looking site! Just got a few questions if you don't mind:

1 - How does shipping work? Since these are fragile and (expensive) animals, what is the fastest time they can safely get from Hawaii to say, the eastern continental US?

2 - Do you harvest everything there? I have seen many of those fish while snorkeling around in HI.

3 - Do you sell very many of these?

I don't think we have it in stock at the moment (this reminds me, I have to figure out a way to make it so Magento doesn't always say "in stock", any help would be appreciated.) The cool thing about this fish is it's only found in the northwest Hawaiian islands which is a marine preserve so the only way to get one is in the rare case that one makes its way south.

1. We ship standard overnight which is fine for the fishes health, priority overnight is way too expensive. We don't do 2nd day air 'cause the survival rate isn't great.

2. Our divers get most of our fish from here in Hawaii although we do get shipments from Christmas Island and Australia as well.

3. We haven't sold any sharks yet but we do get lots of inquiries for other sharks which we don't carry.

Ah cool I get wholesale pricing and I get shipments from transhippers, box for 70 bucks with 30 clowns in it is a pretty damn good price if you ask me. I used to own a pet store had a 1200 gallon fishtank that was salt that I setup. I still got connections in the biz, got 3500 worth of koi for my pond for 800 bucks.

Wow, $70 bucks for 30 clowns! That's crazy. Sounds like you have a sweet set up.

Nice looking tank... looks a bit small for the amount and size of fish though?
I never really got into keeping fish, especially since I found out how amazing an octopus can be as a pet and that the survival rate is practically 0 over here because of the lack of knowledge about them, couldn't bring myself to condemn the poor thing to death. I admire anyone that keeps fish though, seems like a lot of work in some cases.

Like someone said above, cleaning the tanks is a pain in the butt, and not to mention cleaning those plastic tubes thoroughly because sometimes, dirt clogs the tubes. I tried to look for Piranhas in my area till someone told me that it's illegal to pet a Piranha in my place. Lol

I think for 10 grand, I'd find a way to 'encourage' a migration south for the winter.
