Decided to get my old fishtank back up and running and put on my desk.

heh awesome little marine tank, i have 2 tropical tanks, one for show and one for breeding snails to sell back to the aquarium good fun :), love bristlenoses and clown loaches my favourites.

Always thought about a marine set-up but price and effort put me off, although one that size would be cool :)

I don't think we have it in stock at the moment (this reminds me, I have to figure out a way to make it so Magento doesn't always say "in stock", any help would be appreciated.) The cool thing about this fish is it's only found in the northwest Hawaiian islands which is a marine preserve so the only way to get one is in the rare case that one makes its way south.

Hey dude, nice site, but you might want to change the title tag of this page

I am thinking to put a fishtank in my office too.
Watching at something alive close to you is peaceful and inspirational, helps focus.
The only issue is to set up it in an optimal way, when I have a travel I must know that it works for at least a week by itself.

It's where you configure the inventory of the product (inside manage products), unless I'm missing something.

one thing i learned the other day, is that salt water tanks have "hitchhikers" which lay dormant in the soil or coral and start popping up after a few weeks. Like you'll all of a sudden have crazy worms and shrimp swimming around your tank that you never originally put in. Apparently salt water tank owners often share soil samples in order to build/boost the "life" in their tanks. One thing you can do is take a black light to your tank at night and a lot of the creatures are visible then. Pretty cool stuff.

was thinking about getting one but friend told me salt water tanks had a lot of upkeep to them. that true?

God damn fucking aptasia or whatever the fuck took over my large saltwater tank. Damn near impossible to get rid of the cocksuckers. Then all these huge red worms with little white dots started showing up. I saw one of them one night that was no shit the width of my index finger (but flat) - and about 12 inches long.

Some of the coolest hitch-hiker stories I've seen online though were octopi. Seems you pretty much have to sacrafice everything else to keep em though.

Our normal water tank :) It's 350 Liter / 92 Gallon.
Very relaxing to just look at what they are doing :)
It's very annoying to clean tho! Every 2 weeks half of the water out and in.
