Diagnosed with Bell's Palsy

I had this when I was 17. Recovered, but the right side of my face is a bit weaker than the other, but it is not perceptible to other people.. at all. Just me. Guess it's an internal reminder, just for me.

Sucked balls when I was super high trying to move that side of my face as hard as I can. Much easier to have this condition as a male than a female, that's foh sho.

I actually woke up that morning, saw my face in the mirror, said lol, and went to school anyway. Yeah

I just saw this thread now when it was bumped and was like fuuuck that sucks when I read your op and then I saw you're doing a lot better and was like fuuuck yeah. Good stuff man.

Weird bumpage. I assume OP is all better by now? I know BP can be permanent for a small percentage.

A girlfriend got it last year about 2 days before Christmas. It took her a good 6 months to heal. It was extremely painful but she said the worst part was definitely the way people reacted around her.

Dude I am not sure if you are going to check my reply so I will better also copy this and PM you the same.

I was also a sufferer of bells palsy. I felt almost the same you felt. I am seeing lots of advices here but believe me I didn't came across any perfect response. Neither the Neurology resident answer.

Yep Doctors prescribe steroids for this but may be you are not aware Steroids has got lot of side effects. Many put on weight like I have put on weight due to steroids effect. Yes my doctor has also prescribed me steroids. Infact I was given steroids intravenously. However none of the medicines helped me. The diseases was progressing and was not at all improving. Yep I also took antivirals.

But then after consulting a different doctor I was advised to consult a physiotherpist and I was advised to take galvonic shocks. They are micro shocks which you cannot even feel. And guess what from the first day itself improvement started and within 3 to 4 weeks I didn't remember exact time I am perfectly fine. My left side was effected and it is back to normal and now sometimes I don't even remember that I was effected by bells palsy.

So friend don't worry it is definitely curable and you should consult the physiotherapist asap even if your doctor has not referred you to any physiotherapist. You need to take galvonic shocks daily until and unless you recover completely.

PLEASE NOTE THE SOONER YOU START TAKING GALVONIC SHOCKS THE SOONER RECOVERY WILL BE AND THE MORE YOU DELAY THE MORE IT PROGRESSES.

Hey man I didn't noticed your recovery post :) I am glad you are recovering. So I won't PM you now :)

Good luck dude.

I had it around 25 years ago. Woke up one morning with my right eye and lip drooping and thought I had a damn stroke. Went to the doc and he told me it was Bells Palsy and that it'll clear up.

Got the drooling under control after a few days and it got a little better every day, but took about a month or so until it completely went away.

About 6 months ago my boss came in looking like he got hit by a truck and was nervous as hell thinking he had a stroke. I gave him my expert opinion but he thought I was full of it so he left work for an emergency doctor visit. Bells Palsy strikes again. His lasted about 5 - 6 weeks and now he's back to normal, or at least as normal as he ever was.

All totaled, I know 4 people who had it and nobody had any permanent damage. It'll pass.
