I read various posts here and there when google last updated PR that people got big jumps randomly. But I haven't heard anything since. Everyone says PR is irrelevant except for links where it is respected.
I've just looked at mine and 2 were brand new and jumped to PR2, one was decent but basic local business site and one was a 5 minute site with 2 affiliate links on it and 150 words of content. Both on blogger. Both made within a month of update with no backlinking (almost)
But also other sites moved up (might of been natural) and 1 micro niche site with no outbound links, which wasn't blogger.
Anyway I was just thinking that if there is any pattern to this it could be used to harvest backlinks with new internet 'friends' :jester: None of the PR has done any good to serps but I might as well use it for linking...
