Do you believe in ghost?

Last summer I went to the Congress hotel in Chicago, supposedly a pretty haunted place. I walked around for an hour on the abandoned 12th floor, by myself, going into random rooms where 'supposedly' people had killed themselves decades before. I was all coked up so I had massive aggression/noclip invicibility mode going on, I probably wouldn't have done it otherwise. People have said they've heard/seen shit on this floor plenty of times, and my 2 friends said that they saw a ghost up there literally right before I went up there alone. Also went into the ballroom, where Al Capone used to chill and murder people (also supposedly). I didnt see or hear shit the whole time.

Everything has yin and yang.

There can't be ghost without god.

There can't be cold without hot.

There can't be pain without pleasure.

Anyway I used to ask my grand pa about ghost and creepy stuff, I believed senior would know about this when I was much younger.

So he told me about an ancient story, where the servants of a rich man kept complaining that they encounter spirit and ghost roaming around the mansion. The rich man was pissed with all the nonsense and said .."tell me about the ghost you all saw" . The servants started to describe it was white in color, creepy face, floating around and it makes very disturbing noise. The rich man continued asking.. so what clothes was this ghost wearing and they replied.. white shirt and cloth bla bla.

The rich man told his servant, given that human has spirit and when they die they become ghost, so tell me do you think clothes have spirit as well? You should be seeing butt naked ghost

As known, ghosts can assist as much as they can harm, in which case we need to prepare ourselves in the case of an attack. Most protection is mainly preventions, considering that when a ghost is wanting to harm you, there isn't much one can do. Some preventions are keeping salt packets with you at all times. Another is to put an iron rod through the grave of a person, preventing the ghost from coming out. This would help if you caused this particular person great pain or hardship. More ways are lining a doorway with nails, or if a person had died in a house, they must be carried out feet first and all windows and doors must be unlocked and opened so if the soul was to be trapped in this area, it can freely get out.

A friend of mine has a house out in a remote location where sometimes a bunch of us will go and partay. Mostly just drinking beer and playing music, you know. Anyway, his great-grandmother died in that house, and we always joke about her haunting the place.

So one night we were jamming away, and all of a sudden next to me on the far end of the couch it got incredibly cold. Like my left arm was in this spot of icy air. It was insane. I begged everyone to come feel it but most were reluctant cause either they thought I was just being drunk (the dudes) or that I was just trying to scare them (the girls).

Eventually everyone came over and were all baffled that this area next to me in a room that was heated like crazy had become ice cold. I concluded that my buddy's great-grandmother was feeling me and wanted to sit next to me while I played the guitar.

My more skeptical friends tried their best to find a logical explanation for the sudden freezing spot, but to no avail. I mean like FREEZING. Not just less warm.

My theory on ghost or lost souls is that they are deceased people who some how get stuck in a parallel dimension in between Earth and the Afterlife. I don't think everyone will become a ghost after they die. Only those who do not want to face the reality of dying or those who felt they did not want to leave here with any unresolved issues, are the ones who get trapped in this realm. The amount of time as a ghost varies for each individual. Some could be a ghost for centuries or more, some could be one for a couple weeks. It's not uncommon for someone, after they die, to linger around as a ghost for a little while before they cross over and "head towards the light." Some may be confused or in denial and need extra guidance or confirmation of their death. Once they accept their death they should be able to go Home.

If ever encountering a lost soul it is important to tell them they are dead and assure them that they will be okay if they just trust life and have faith. No matter what religion they were, or if not religious at all, they all still go to the Afterlife which is our true home. Keep in mind they cannot physically harm you. Most are just depressed and have no intention of hurting anyone.

Ghost encounters can be very overwhelming. During an encounter many people say they felt an eerie and cold presence. I suggest that feeling we get isn't because ghosts are dangerous or evil, but possibly because we sympathize with their pain.

I didn't read the entire thread, but...

I'm not sure I would call them ghosts maybe more like spiritual energy. I've had some crazy experiences when I was a kid through my late teens that really made me question the existence of such entities or the use of mental powers. I'm not going to elaborate because no one would believe me even if I told them. It's been a few years probably since I have experienced anything though. Some scientists do think we have a connection to a sixth sense, some stronger than others.

^ this is what I find funny. Not the story but the fact that people won't share their "experiences" but people don't feel retarded at all stating thet believe in other shit, what's the difference?

I will reiterate again that I for one don't believe in anything supernatural (including religion), but I think it's funny that people hide their crazies by simply stating, it's my religion.

There is a difference, the religious people are happy to take stories from a book and claim them all knowing to make themselves feel better. I have nothing to prove, and no one to convince. My experiences are my own, and I'm not looking to push it on anyone else. For all I know there are actually very scientific rational to why I have experienced the things I have experienced. You can't say the same for the religious folk.

the fuck you care?

I think you're taking it too serious jonas33h. Those who haven't ever experienced anything along those lines can not ever relate. Some will make fun. Some will harass. Some will attack. It's human nature that anytime anything you believe is attacked, you become defensive. It's the same reason people get entrenched in religion (you all can't be wrong right?), politicians can't back out of what they have done, McDonalds can't take back the McRib... etc. At some point you have to stand up for what you believe I guess... which is why I hate fucking soccer.
