Do you guys donate to charity?

I agree with Kiva as a cool site even though it's not donations. I've lent a total of $2,525.00 since 2010 with a default rate of 0.46%, and you can set it up to be completely automated as far as picking the loans. Kiva - Lender > Andy

Instead of giving money to random people so you can feel good about yourself, I find it is more rewarding to do some 1st-hand good for your fellow man. Buy a homeless man lunch or something to that effect. Not only will it actually make a difference to someone in need, but it will also make you feel good, AND you can feel superior to the people who just give money. Win win win.

True story :eek7:

If it makes you feel any better I got kicked out of a homeless shelter. Some asshat started screaming at me and I let into him. Apparently I wasn't suppose to bring in a drink. He started yelling at me for drinking alcohol when I wasn't.

I like people who donate but do not talk about it...

Why? I think more people who've sold diet pills should donate to action against hunger. I like charities that don't send me any direct mail after making a donation and are efficient in other ways.

Then again, I think I was spied on by the FAO of the UN in 2010 and the FAO was given an award by Action Against Hunger in 2009. Maybe I'm being paranoid but maybe Action Against Hunger gave the FAO my name as a donor. In that case, I don't really recommend donating to Action Against Hunger but Kiva is still cool AFAIK.

Kiva for days. Every once in a while I'll jump on a site like fundly or tipping bucket and find something I can get behind. Drop a few bucks their way and feel like I'm actually contributing to society. Then I go out and vandalize. Gotta keep that karma in check.

I'm on Kiva as well. I like the idea of giving to people how have a vision and the hustle to go after it.

I donate to local Live Theaters in SF. I was a Major in college (shut up i got laid) and i like to see the theater living.

I donate food to homeless (locally) and help out those I know in need (my maid for example, we are always giving her food since her concept of feeding her kids is to give them cookies, we also give her stuff for her kids like toys, school shit, etc)

I do donate occasionally online (oxfam, and random other charities)
