I just had some time to burn and actually tried to watch one of these episodes.

What. An. Atrocity.

The host sounds like she's recovering from a heavy night of drinking. I can't even believe how many sponsors they got for this retarded shit. EVERYTHING is sponsored by someone of something.

I could do better. Anyone like parody?

I'm glad someone finally agrees with me publicly on this topic..

I have nothing against Shoemoney anymore for the record.. I just think the retard who started it up, that guy Cock or whatever his name is, has no right to be doing something like it and to be taken seriously either! I mean, lets back track a bit for a moment here... What has he accomplished thus far? Nothing. Oh that's not fair.. he did accomplish something. Last year he was one of the chosen idiots on the Next Internet Millionaire internet tv show that Joel Comm did. He also came right out and said that he was a COMPLETE newbie. This was LESS than a fucking year ago... and he didn't even win it (although there were rumors about it being rigged, but I don't think Joel Comm is foolish enough to do that, I think it was just jealousy by the super losers of the contest).

So he didn't win the first thing.. so what does he do, he just so happens to be pals with Shoemoney, and live in the same state. Maybe he had some cash and funded it? Who knows and who cares..

The part that bugs me THE MOST though is that by having all of these networks fly out there and sponsor it, make so much of what we've been working on here, counterproductive.

NEWBIES WHO CREATE SHIT LIKE THIS SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY! THEY SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN THE CREDIT THESE NETWORKS GAVE HIM BECAUSE ALL IT DOES IS ATTRACT MORE NEWBIES WHO DON'T KNOW SHIT, OR ARE TOO FUCKING LAZY, AND THEY START A GET RICH QUICK CHALLENGE THING TOO...

I know for a fact that all of the networks who "sponsored" got nothing but newbie affiliates. What a shocker. I feel for Shoemoney on this because I think he needs a winning project asap to restore himself. Going with Cock over there is a dumb move.

But again.. I'm not mad at Shoemoney or even Cock as much as I'm PISSED at the networks who participated in it as sponsors. What a fucking slap in the face for WickedFire. I get told constantly by networks who want to advertise on or through WickedFire and either think our rates are too high (compared to a booth at a 2-3 day show its about the same for a month on WF!) or that they are cutting back on advertising dollars... and then go and pull this?! Fuckkkkkkkkkkk that.

Nicky told me when I was bitching about it to him when I first found out that "its not a big deal" and "you shouldn't take it so personally"... Well, that's been a problem of mine that I've been trying to get over... Not taking shit personally on here or against WF anymore. But its a lot easier said than done.

Ahh fuck it. I just end up looking like a lunatic when I rant like this. But it seems people always agree with me (off the record of course) but will never come to my aid or the aid of WickedFire when we need it the most. I'm starting to hate this industry more and more and more... We'll see how long I last. Maybe time to retire very soon?

Never gave a fuck about it when they first started talking about it and still don't. I never went to the site or even watched a second.

I figured I could be more productive by popping bubble rap.

No matter how much retooling they do, I cannot imagine TAC ever being successful. There are two inherent problems I can point out right off the bat. First, it's boring as hell to watch people work on a computer. Second, how much drama can actually develop between players when they spend more time interacting with their computer than they do with each other? These two problems do not allow a viewer to develop an emotional attachment to the participants, which is an absolute must on any reality show. If you're not attached to the participants, you aren't going to care about anything they do on the show, be it earning cash, a "so what are your thoughts" interview, their downtime "fun", or any challenge.

Regardless of what they do with the production value of the show, it will continue to fail in its current format regardless of whether they bring in more noobs, or bring in seasoned, successful marketers. I don't want to see a $1M/month PPC guru type on a computer any more than I want to see a beginner.

Make a parody? Wasn't TAF a parody in itself?
You know it is a successful affiliate marketing show when
a. None of the gurus are "real" affiliate marketers
b. It was held in the "new tech hub" called Neb-fucking-raska
c. The "host" knew that the timing of the show taping will conflict with the birth of his child, and still went ahead with it, thus neglecting the show
d. The hostess (Monica) was neither an affiliate marketer nor had any idea what that is.
e. The selection of candidates was based on who can make a cool video

Let me go on the record saying anyone who'll agree with you off the record, but not on the record, is a pussy.
TAC 2.0! Parody! Parody! Parody!

TAC is a clean rip of Joel's Internet millionaire. Joel's show was actually well made, well put together and well funded and based. I enjoyed watching it, even though I learnt shit all from it. The worms were quality haha.

Yes, it feels like the affiliate industry is getting pushed into the MMO niche where newbs are rampant and no one sticks up for their own opinions - as long as they look like knowledgable millionaires and make a couple bucks here and there.
