Does anyone here use a dash camera in their car?

I just got a dascham app for my Android and was testing it yesterday. It's free and seems to work fine from my limited testing. Not sure what you have but I'm sure iPhone has a few too. Just get a $5 car mount kit on eBay for your phone and you're set. Here's a vid I made yesterday of a storm we had. It should be mounted a little higher I think. The app is called Daily Roads Voyager. Skip to 1:20.

you literally passed by my house in that video

I had considered using my phone as a camera but would rather have a dedicated solution mounted to the window. This way I can take my phone out of my car without interrupting the recording.

Contour or Go Pro

I have a GoPro on my boat not in my car, I am sure he's scared of getting pulled over with meth or something and being beaten like the late Rodney King.

I have a go pro that I use when biking and doing MTB! Pays to have them in cars, both front and rear, just to be safe!

The dashcam video from the car in the Japanese tsunami is still one of the craziest I've seen....

I've heard good things about this guy: Car Blackbox/ Dashcam

Has some cool features that go beyond just video recording, such as GPS and speed tracking. Pretty pricey (I guess, I haven't really looked at other prices), but something I've considered investing in for a while.

ive got one in one of my trucks. It only turns on when I backup though, should re-wire it around the brake or something. Its where my navigation goes but yeah, only works when i backup

After 3 near death experiences from insane murdering-on-their-mind drivers (one literally followed me for miles and tried everything to deliberately push me off the road - thank god I didn't have my gun with me, because I'd be in jail for life) I HAD TO get one. It's HD and looks like a car remote, so you can use it for filming the road as well as out of control cops if need be.

I've been both crashed into and have crashed into someone. Being in the UK they were very polite affairs, I would like a reason to use one of these though. If not just to pick up people's amusing antics·

I found this too 808 #16 its a key chain camera and the video looks great. This way I can keep recording audio and video even when I leave the car.

Here's some footage shot with one on youtube.
